I’ve seen multiple tight ends wide open up the seam, but Ridder had no time to see them.

I said prior to the game that you wouldn’t be able to take anything away from this performance. So that’s my take.

He’s not my first choice, but I don’t think he’s a bad OC

This Cincy OL had no chance the entire game. ZERO. In turn, Ridder had no chance.

When you’re handcuffed like that, it doesn’t matter what calls are made by the OC.

Denbrock in a vaccum was never an exciting hire.

Kelly isn't hiring someone to bring in his own offense and run the show. He's bringing someone in that he can work with and delegate things to that he's confident will be able to execute the way he would.

It's why there was no rush to get the coordinator. It's why Kelly wasn't concerned. It's why nobody is excited. Hell, they aren't even trying to sell the OC to recruits...they are selling that Kelly is going to be in the room running things.

People don't want to believe this.

Going to be honest, it's a safe hire.

None of the guys on Cincy could even walk on at Alabama. This was a gross mismatch. There were 2 loss teams that were more deserving than Cincy to be the sacrificial victim for the Tide. No one was going to beat Alabama today, nor will Georgia in the rematch.

Cincy dropped TD passes on 2 separate drives.

As stated by another poster…Cincinnati looked very similar to a lot of LSU offenses vs Saban pre-2019. Put together a plan for a good looking opening drive. Bama adjusts…no more answers…game over. Maybe a late insignificant score.

I agree that this will be Kelly’s offense that will be facilitated by Denbrock. LSU didn’t want another HC hire without an expertise on at least one side of the ball. Kelly is an offensive guy. He’s a balanced offensive guy though based on his history.

The key to Kelly’s offensive success at LSU is the same as any other LSU HC…Oline talent and QB. My biggest hope is that he can create a consistently dominant Oline at LSU, which has proven to be very difficult. If he can he will win big consistently. If he can’t…we all know what that looks like.

Everyone should read this article. Kelly always schemes his offense around his personnel.

The 4th and 3, game on the line, designed QB draw really made me cringe

Can’t compare those two games. Saban obviously has his team better prepared for a playoff game, and now they are motivated and not just going through the motions.

I saw cinci was in 11 personnel and shotgun most of the game. Looked like they were moving the tight end around quite a bit. Mixed in some pistol. Some misdirection mixed in. Not much different structurally from the stuff we were running in 19’ except less empty, not sure what kind of receiving threat the back #24 is.

Honestly their offense looked pretty similar to Bama’s in terms of formations and calls. Bama came out and kept calling the same running plays over and over because Cinci couldn’t stop it. Point is it’s silly to judge scheme off the game last night, Cinci was physically outmatched from the jump. Nothing is going to work if you can’t block them.

My biggest bone to pick with him is that he doesn’t coach QBs.

And that’s the position that is struggling right now.

How do you think Bryce Young would have fared behind that offensive line?
