During most of Gundy’s tenure they were in the upper half of the Big 12 with OU and UT in the conference. Eight 10+ win seasons. Three major bowl appearances with two wins. Two top 10 finishes with a No. 3 finish in 2011 when they were NC contenders.

That’s a lifetime ago in today’s landscape of college football

Definitely agree with this. But I'm hopeful for Heupel if LK falls through.

The facilities at OKST are top-notch. That's where all of Pickens' money was spent.

Gundy refused to adapt to NIL.

There are plenty of donors lined up and ready to go. In fact, a group went on the Oregon trip and met with key players there to see firsthand what needs to be done. It was that group that forced Gundy out after the Tulsa game.

So how he’s handling jumping from a potential playoff team going to a conference championship? Is he going to get ragged on like Kiffin has been for leaving a playoff team or is that just an anti-LSU bias talking point

Man, he’s one I would have liked for the searching committee (if indeed there is one here) to take a good look at

He will stay with UNT through the end of their season, including playoffs if they were to make it.

Well, LSU did hire a coach from OSU

I see osu will allow him to coach UNT until season is over. If Kiffin is allowed to coach Ole miss in the postseason and wins the championship, do you think he changes his mind about leaving ole miss?

We’ll see but I’ve seen no indication of that from anyone that would actually know. Sorry I don’t believe some message board poster that doesn’t even seem to comprehend the basics

This makes sense. The dude has like 5 years of fbs coaching experience. He isn’t a serious candidate for high level jobs. Go prove you can do it at the power 4 level and then step up to a great job

I disagree. This cycle is so thin that he probably could have found himself in line for a bigger job, or at least one for a program that hasn’t fallen off that hard.

As for OSU, that’s a hell of a hire considering their current circumstances.

This makes no sense unless every other open or potentially open job him finishing the season was a deal breaker, which I highly doubt. He has no incentive to accept OSU early if he thinks hes in the mix for a bigger job.

I don’t disagree with that

Pickens died in 2019.

Here's a video about the facilities:

Word in OKST circles is that the QB is coming with him.

They had better get into those couch cushions fast, because a few programs will be throwing money at him.

I know and the large scale renovation was well before that.

Extremely mid at best for the power 4. Worse than places like Vanderbilt will have when all of their Reno’s are done… as I said. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about here
