I can’t imagine Campbell telling multiple schools no this cycle and then going to Pedo U the day after national signing day. Just doesn’t seem like him.

He’s a Midwest guy and this is probably the best Midwest job he could ever hope to land. He grew up a few hours from state college.

Would probably almost double his pay, have a much larger NIL fund, access to a more fertile recruiting ground and the disparity in media revenue between schools in the big ten and big 12 is huge now. Like an $80 million dollar difference in tv between the schools.

Better than the Detroit Lions? Better than Ohio State? Lions offered and OSU made “strong inquiries”.

Penn State is a dumpster fire. A dumpster fire with a good distant history but a dumpster fire none the less.

Campbell would be an excellent hire.

He's not an elite coach and has never expressed a desire to move for any of the big jobs that have tried to pull him from Ames.

Better than Detroit because of the guaranteed money aspect. I don’t think OSU would ever seriously hire Campbell. Their fans would revolt. Not saying they would be right, but Campbell would never excite a fanbase like OSU.

They wasted a lot of good money by firing Franklin and then ending up with a hire like this

Crazy that they didn't go after him before if they wanted him.

So dumb.

It seems like Penn State is just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. If I were Campbell, I'd turn them down, he's probably their 8th choice, or however far down the list they are at this point.

I think he’s underwhelming given what PSU had already. What does Campbell get you that Franklin didn’t already have?

Campbell would give them a coach that would beat these numbers:

Winning %age against top 25: 32%
Winning %age against top 10: 12%

He’s too pretty of a girl to go home with the sloppy guy at 2am who’s trying to take home anything he can get

What happened to waiting for DeBoer? You know, after he retires in 2042.

I read one report that Campbell wasn’t fielding calls during the season, so that may be part of the delay.

he never does.

it's seeming like he might take this job. I'm bummed. ISU's AD is to blame. he's been fricking football over for years and Campbell is apparently tired of it.

That would be an eleventh hour miracle for them.

Really hoping he says no. LOL

I kind of want Campbell to go somewhere and fail so I can stop hearing how great he is, he just has no desire to achieve more

It kinda is. That part of Pennsylvania has much more in common with Ohio/Kentucky than it does with the East Coast.
