It probably makes sense to have Judge coach the Egg Bowl so the committee has evidence Ole Miss can win without Kiffin. And I gotta imagine practice will be untenable for Kiffin this week. I’d imagine Ole Miss would prefer that?

Why would Carter release a statement yesterday that says Kiffin and his staff are focused on Egg Bowl preparations and he'll make a decision on his future on Saturday only to completely renege on it the same week ? I've reread your post like 10 times and I can't make sense of it. Are you for real ?

That statement made Kiffin’s situation a lot more uncomfortable than it already was with fans/players. What purpose did that statement serve?
ETA. It’s not about Ole Miss reneging. They have no leverage to force Kiffin to not coach. It’s about Kiffin realizing he can’t coach.

It draws a line in the sand with Jimmy Sexton. The statement was the right thing to do. You're saying Carter should've told the hottest coach in college football to pack his bags and get out of town minutes after his son won the biggest high school football game of his young life ?!? Appoint Joe Judge as interim last night or this morning and release a statement saying 'Hey Rebel Nation I fired Lane Kiffin, the biggest commodity in all of college football, because I didn't feel like he was All in.' Cause if you get rid of him you have to make a press release for that too. I think you're in over your head my man.

Walk me through it. You're the AD and you just fired Lane Kiffin during the Bye week before the Egg Bowl when you're 10-1. What do you say in the press release ? Do you include your two weeks notice in the statement ? You'll never be the AD of an SEC school ever again. Since you fired him without cause you have to pay him a shite ton of money that you owe him too.
I think he's LSU to lose but landing a coach like Kiffin is like JUCO recruiting used to be. Until there's ink on paper you just never know. His teenage daughter talked him out of the Auburn job.

All I know is Chicken's original post makes zero sense to me. I don't see how it's possible for him to sign a 1 week contract with Ole Miss then sign with LSU. That feels like someone trolling writing that out.
I don't know everything legal but common sense tells me that's also not reasonable.

Why wouldn't he just coach next week and sign the contract with lsu after the game?
The one week contract does seem weird to me also. But this is sort of new territory. I guess we will see.

Yeah that’s my point. Why would Ole Miss ever agree to a new one week contract so he can sign a MOU with us? Tell him to resign or wait till after the game.

I think he’s saying that if it does leak and it’s done. He’s going to share crazy stuff about the timeline. Maybe that he was going to FL until LSU opened up and Saban told him to go to LSU
