Seriously guys, what part of this makes sense, from any angle other than Kirby getting a bumb from Bama?
It makes sense because people are unsure whether Smart is a good DC or is simply Saban's puppet. That hinder's his ability to get big gigs.
If he becomes a DC at another big school and the defense does really well, then the doubt will be removed, and he becomes a legitimate HC candidate because of his experience.

Da fuqs your problem, pal?
The guy post info he believes to be true, after a long hassle mind you, and you go deliberately out of your way to discredit it?

Someone didnt do their research before starting this rumor
Smart makes 1.3 million now.
Saban is 2 years older than Miles, so Bama will open before LSU does. Why leave now? And Richt is 7 years younger than Miles, so that will probably be the last job of the 3 to open, and one that Smart will have multiple shots at (see Hoke and Harbaugh at UM)
I don't think anyone actually believes him but it's officially the offseason now and there is jack shite else to talk about

As a DC at another school? For less than two years? That's fricking retarded.
The HCIW term is dead for all intents and purposes in college football. Its definitely not something that's written into contracts anymore. This is a dead giveaway this guy is either full of shite, or was fed some bullshite.
For Christ's sake, all you guys had to do was ask nicely and promise not to be mad later and he spilled his guts. People like that aren't privy to the inner details of a 1.4M coaching contract.

But the assts extensions were beyond even that with a clause that administration definitely felt like would take effect.
LSU offered Chavis a contract extension that would have kept him as DC, so long as Miles was at LSU, for the next three years.

And so did Chavis, that's why he wanted it out.
Don't be so naive

Dude i'm not saying im right. I had info and decided to share it. I personally think there is no way this happens. I do think what i was told seems logical. "Dont look at the name look at the resume". Im sure we will hire someone else and everyone can call me a piece of shite.
As for the money. I was told it was a $100k bump. I thought i had read he was at $1.28. I may have been wrong on the #'s.

calm the frick down man
a school where he'd have complete and total control of the D. Right now if the D plays well Saban gets all the credit, if it gets smoked people call for Smart's head.
Maybe he's wrong, but I'll at keast give him credit for putting a name and specific details out there. Much more than some others have done so far...

As a HC...YES. As an OC he's the winningest OC in NFL history

Indeed, we offered him almost every deal to break his silence except a life time Gold Club membership.

I don't know, a 20 year old pool boy was privy to some ground breaking information on Dec. 30th.

I must be naive, b/c I need you to spell it out.
I know what LSU offered, and I know he didn't like it.
What have I said that you disagree with?
