All those NOLA recruits are going to pass Tulane’s rigorous academic standards??

If it’s Frank Wilson, at Tulane he’d have to go into the weeds for mid-major recruits and he may or may not have the connections to do so nowadays
Like instead of going to Karr and talking to Richard Anderson he’d have to scout them. He won’t beat out P4 programs for guys he used to recruit. He’d have to go to programs he didn’t go to before.
Look at his tenure at UTSA.

I’ve read that Sumerall didn’t take his coordinators to Florida. Could they be on the short list of easy hires.
Joe Craddock (OC) makes me want to drown puppies.

It"s not that shocking. He's not that good of a coach and doesn't have the management, organizational or promotional skills needed to be a HC. FW is strictly a "Used Car Salesman" recruiter.
I was being facetious. I never ever wanted him to be head coach.
If Wilson is Tulanes next coach I will give up my season tickets.

What about Will Hall ?

So happy for Will and Tulane! They made the logical move here. Congrats to both parties!

If Tulane were true to the values they teach on campus, they would hire a minority woman as coach.

So true. Wonder why they didn’t

When he was hired at Houston he stayed on to coach the bowl game. During that time he was actively recruiting players to Houston.
Sumrall had to come in and pretty much fire everyone that was going to Houston.

Honestly I thought Hall would be a 'dark horse' candidate.
The Tulane fan boards are melting over the hire.

Why are they melting? Will is a great man and will do big things

Go look at his recent HC record as USM. Big risk here hiring a guy who failed miserably once already.

Mostly because of his Southern Miss record.
I'm not up to date with the Southern Miss athletic department but they think since Huff came in (and brought a bunch of guys from Marshall with him) and instantly win then that means Hall is a bad HC.

Steve Foley once said that the only way Tulane would be able to keep a successful coach long term beyond 3-4 years was if you could find a local guy who really wanted to return home and was not interested in the career enhancement end of coaching and could consistently win.
Absent that, Tulane will have a revolving door of coaches for the foreseeable future.

Tulane already did that with Curtis Johnson and Chris Scelfo.
They embraced the ‘stepping stone’ narrative which is why they went after Blake Baker.

Right, the pool of local good coaches is very ......"shallow"
