Seems like Baker has Tulane over a barrel and it's just a matter of time before they give in.

Tulane stated that they didn't want to make an announcement before the Conference championship game.

Perhaps......Tulane informed Napier of the decision and he decided to take the JMU job?

I'm shocked that Memphis wasn't after Napier.

Charles Huff would be an awesome hire for Tulane.

Is the HC position at Tulane better than the DC job at LSU assuming they are strong contenders for the next few years?

If it means becoming the head coach of your former team and Alma mater, maybe?

Tulane needs to hire someone that will stay for a while. Orgeron would be that guy not baker.

If his QB didn't get hurt late season, he could have turned a 1 win USM team to the Sun Belt championship game in 1 year with 8-9 wins.

Im not saying that they are not, but I haven't heard them even interviewing him (I know that doesn't mean anything).

No dig against Baker, but I truly think Huff would be a much better hire at this moment for Tulane's program. The program is in a great spot. They need a guy with experience to step in and keep it going.

It's probably more like BB wants to prove he can run an entire program.

Been there....done that. I think the money people at Tulane realize that using the head coaching job as a stepping stone job is the best route. Keep winning and try to get in a better conference with the next round of realignment.

Tulane AD has said he prefers someone with HC experience. If so, Huff would be the choice that seems likely, even though Baker is a strong candidate as well. This should be interesting.

I don't think Tulane can't go wrong with either guy. Imo. To me, it's do you want an offensive minded guy or a defensive minded guy.

Charles Huff is a darn good alternative.

He wouldn’t be my alternative. And I don’t say that just because I want Baker back. He’s a very good coach with title winning experience as a head coach.
