How is it that the Journalist are fairly confident this or that is going to happen, but local sources here on the board are sure, but not 100%, not sure

It's seem everyone posting something relative to "I heard" is doing this dance of confidence followed by some back peddling when some one else is confident saying the opposite of what you heard, because "we heard".

You either know or you don't. Both can not be right, but both can be mis-lead I suppose.

Maybe because when coaches and agents are negotiating there is nothing that is set in stone. Therefore, you can't be confident in anything until it is signed on the dotted line.

you can be confident in who is being discussed and what is being offered.

I was informed once b.d.p and d.m. leaving became public. Miles would do one of these meet with the media things again and provide a short list of potential candidates for replacements.

i wish i had more but i don't. i'm just trying to provide what little info i have.

I'm not trying to hammer you on this but this would be very out of character for miles or almost any football coach to do. Miles has always hired under strict secrecy so giving a "short list" out to the media just doesn't make sense.

Belowpar:

How close are you to Les Miles Office?

Down the hall close?

Is so, tell him Apex said hey, and that he needs to read the "encouragement thread" on the Recruiting board here, when he has time of course

i think miles is in one of those positions where it may be necessary to keep the heat off

miles knows he's got the goose laying golden eggs here at LSU and he's facing his first major failure. he can't kill the goose

do you really buy that? that miles will call a media meeting and say 'i'm looking at john chavis, dwayne walker, and tenuta for defensive coordinator and I hope to hear back from Ed Orgeron soon otherwise i'll have to find another DLine coach'?

I can't recall a coach at any sport at any level issuing such a statement. I especially can't see miles doing it because historically he plays this closer to the vest than most anybody else.

don't know much about Willis as a recruiter, but I think Walker may be overrated in that regard. If it's Walker, I still want O

That's not going to happen.

But, perhaps the total secrecy within the search will be lifted and people who are usually "in the know" may finally start to learn what is going on.
