Was in my top 3, I had Freeze, Kelly, Kiffin.

I did

If true a very average hire at best. Mediocrity will be the norm.

Just here to downvote use of “who here”

I wanted Matt Rhule and never gave a thought of Brian Kelly because I didn’t think there was a chance in hell Woodward could get him. But I think this is a better hire IMO.

If I knew he was a legitimate candidate I would've wanted him.

to me minutes ago on the Brian Kelly hire for LSU: "He's going to bring us to national championships."

Well rational people can think more than one person would be a good hire.
I was a Riley or Kiffin or Rhule guy, but honestly I just didn’t think much about Kelly because I thought he was unrealistic.
It’s a fricking smash home run of a hire and anyone that says otherwise is a fricking idiot.

You mean a 60 old Les Miles type of coach? Who wouldn’t be excited.
Dude. STHU. You look past your pimpled nose and you know damn well Brian Kelly is not a Les Miles type coach. Do what he has done at ND with the recruiting restrictions and let him recruit the same at the rest of the SEC...never mind, go back to your Xbox

I can't say that didn't I wanted Kelly just didn't think he would leave. He was on the list of coaches I would take but didn't think we could get

The fact that he’s such an A hole
So,
Miles spoke in some kind of weird language and did not give information and was hated for it.
O sounded like he swallowed a crab and ruined his voice ..but gave up too much information.
Sabin is an a-hole with the media and now the fanbase but everyone would be having a welcome home Nick party if he was the white whale hire.
Now along comes Brian Kelly who may be an a-hole but you're already figuring out how to get rid of him.
Go on back to your rig for the next 14 days and let the grown up take care of this.

TBH I never thought he was even an option. I'm shocked. But overall I like the hire. He can recruit. He's a good fundamentals coach. He'll fix our shitty arse O-line. No bullshite and meme-inspiring behavior. And here he'll finally have the talent to legit scrap with Bama, UGA, etc.
LFG!

Maybe most here didn’t think Kelly was possible.
Posted on 11/29/21 at 8:48 pm to Epaminondas
Early on I thought that if Woodward actually operates how people claim then the hire is probably Brian Kelly, but I didn't think that'd actually be the hire. He's not my literal first choice if I could pick a coach not named Saban, but he's up there.

I simply can not see an argument for Kiffin over Kelly. I would have been OK with Aranda though. I just have a feeling he’ll be great.

I said 6 weeks ago to my wife (you can’t handle the pics) the BK would be awesome at LSU
Posted on 11/29/21 at 8:50 pm to Epaminondas
I was all about Aranda
I thought Kelly was one of the coaches that would never leave ND until he retired. I thought it was silly talk
I am good with it

I mentioned him a few times, but never considered him realistic

I wanted Aranda but Kelly is a great consolation option. Didn't want Riley because if he succeeds here, he'll jump to the NFL like Brady and we'll be back to square one again. Lastly with Kelly I don't think you'll see many players with grade and compliance issues.

The biggest concern I have is his offensive philosophy. Seems somewhat dated. With obviously better talent, and, in a more progressive league, hopefully he will adapt. Will be optimistic in August.
