If we do expand, I would rather us not take another subpar team like Va Tech if we are already taking one in A&M.

Neither of those two add anything to the SEC...

are you serious?

fyi, VTech would have been playing for the BCS title in 2007 if they'd not had to play LSU that year. Go back and look at the final BCS standings.

Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner! It is all about TV sets! The added plus is Va Tech and A&M both have large fan bases and have strong Athletic programs. They would fit into the SEC very nicely IMHO!

I hate VA tech...but they bring a huge fan base and actually two markets in VA and Washington. Before i came over here I was stationed in VA for 7 years. Hampton Roads is a hundred miles from Blacksburg and you can't go anywhere without seeing VA Tech crap! They are everywhere. It looks like Baton Rouge with LSU. If the SEC can get them it's a huge market for them and a lot of fans and money.

And what was the score of that? And it would have been about the same vs any good SEC school, as it will be if they join.

Another sub par middle of the pack SEC team. We dont need that in the SEC.

Besides we dont need any comp in that catagory right now. We have that covered...

sheesh.

remember when the BIG XII was formed and everyone griped that the KSU and NU powerhouses made the North division ridiculously hard?

hint: things change, go in cycles, etc.

A&M would simply give just another SEC win for LSU and Bama and most other teams outside of Mississippi.
Just like MSU was suppose to be a pushover easy win for LSU last year?

Don't count on the Aggies being an Auto win, they give Texas all they can handle and historically have been a powerhouse.

Va Tech and the Aggies are SEC type fan bases. I said last year, if the SEC expands, it needs to grom into new markets. Miami has abosultely nothing in common with the SEC. We are big state universities, except Vandy. Mimai draws like crap and is culturally differnt than the SEC.

I can see adding Missouri to the West as well as one more to the East. Maryland? West Va? Too far north

So first you're upset that they aren't elite football (which is wrong, VT will probably be top 10 to start this season), then you say the SEC doesn't need more elite teams?

Besides, Houston and DC are worth way more than the parts of Florida that UF doesn't already bring.

This would be great for the SEC West. Now, UF would have to play VT every damned year thus making their cup cake seasons a lot more difficult.

This will be great for LSU if we can exchange our yearly game with Florida for Texas A&M.

It would be nice to play all of the SEC East opponents on a rotating basis.

No way that happens. They would probably just drop one of the rotating games.

45-3. It was the most dominating performance in a college football game that I've ever seen, even stronger than the 46-3 butt-whooping that Miami laid on Texas in the Cotton Bowl years ago.
