And no one seems to have heard about it. To begin play in May
I wasnt aware till yesterday. No one i talked to watching yesterday’s game knew

Team still has no name, branding, or any advertising whatsoever. Scheduled to play their first game in 3 months

I had coffee with the owners for about an hour yesterday. They talked about their plans for the team, pathways for their squad to advance professionally, and how they will fit in the community
I an VERY excited about their plans
There will be a launch party downtown next Sunday February 20 at 4pm. 227 Florida street near Poor boy lloyds/outside stimuli
Team name will be revealed and more team information. A family event so brings the kids
Games will be at Olympia
Will post more during the week

Not to be cynical, but it doesn't matter how grandiose the plans are, it's pretty much impossible to transition from USL2 which is basically a college summer league program to full-on professional league in USL1.
The only prayer is for a legitimate fan base that shows up in droves for every match. And as we've seen with literally every single one of the minor league teams that Baton Rouge has spit out over the last 30 years, it just simply won't happen.
The owners shouldn't even be considering the big picture right now, they just need to do whatever it takes to make sure this thing lasts more than one or two seasons in USL2.
