Is it time to stop priority law enforcement funeral processions? Is there a better way?

The funeral procession today is screwing up thousands of people’s lives. Traffic is backed up. Commerce is affected. Commutes are affected. School busses and carpools are affected.
I love seeing support for our good law enforcement officers. But is it time to find a better way to honor and show our support and stop the large funeral processions?
Law enforcement officers are public servants. They shouldn’t get special treatment on roadways for funeral processions. All the tax payer funded police cars and fuel used in the procession. Can we begin to honor these fallen heroes in other ways besides a procession ?
I know, I know…how dare I say this. In B4: He’s a hero. I’m a nobody. How dare I be inconvenienced. Who do I call when I need help? It’s great for his family to see. I’m a POS. Frick me. You hope the criminals come for me. Yada yada yada.
Can you read this post and discuss this topic with an open mind and civility? Is there a better way to show support? Any ideas?
I thank NT for his service and sacrifice. To the family, I say thank you.

This will go well. I’ll park myself here.

Maybe take all the money spent on the procession and send to the family?

6&B asking the tough questions.

You can move to where there is no law enforcement.

They wrestle with naked crackhead for like $25 an hour and get shot at. Give em a nice funeral.

How is it an different than a regular procession where the motorcycle cops block every intersection so the procession can drive from random church in JP to funeral home in NOLA?

It know people in Slidell who will pay you $25 to wrestle with a naked crackhead.

They will escort your funeral procession as well. I’m guessing you won’t have a large turnout though.

I merely suggest they making it a rolling procession like every other dead person and I am Satan incarnate. It can be a big rolling procession if you want to parade 100 cop cars, I don't care, no need to block the streets the way they have this past week though.
People aren't reasonable these days.

They're not just a clump of old worn out cells you know. All life should be honored with an extra long procession.

How about just taking a deep breath and pause for a moment? Why not let them have their way of honoring their own?
I remember my grandfather pulling his truck over on a bridge in Morgan City when a funeral procession passed in the opposite direction (divided by a concrete divider) got out of his truck took his ball cap off and placed it over his heart. Maybe it was a bit much but I’m confident his values could teach folks these days a thing or two about the sanctity of life.

Too much risk that someone in the area needs medical assistance and cant get it due to the traffic nightmare.

Maybe if our society cared more about police officers we wouldn’t be having processions for fallen officers. Why don’t you get mad at the scum that kill officers instead of venting about honoring a fallen hero?!?! Trust me, none of these officers like seeing a fellow officer die. They would rather be out putting criminals in jail.
