NYPD makes fitness tests easier after increased retirements

In addition to easing the Job Standard Test, the NYPD appears to have scrapped a rule that required recruits to run 1.5 miles in 14:21 or less to graduate from the academy.
That qualification is posted on an official web page that features the 2019 video detailing the JST, but it’s not part of another that features last year’s video.
Sources said that 1.5-mile run hasn’t been officially eliminated but that top brass were considering scrapping it, with one saying, “So many people are retiring in droves and they have to fill these positions.”

Run 1/4 mile in like 2:00, do 10 push ups, 20 sit ups and like a 8” vertical leap. Those aren’t exact but approximately what I remember. It was laughable, especially coming off the Gretna PD physical. Oh and that was for a 20s male. It gets easier as you get older or if you’re a woman. And btw yes people failed.

Why would they need to swap it with something easier climb? The way the progressives want them to pass the test is stop chasing the suspect when he flees even before he hops over it.
