WGNO
According to the New Orleans Police Department, five stolen cars were found in the Little Woods neighborhood over the weekend. Police say a viral social media challenge showing users how to steal cars using a USB cable is what’s likely behind the recent crimes.
WGNO’s Anna McAllister spoke to one of the victims and an NOPD detective about the viral criminal trend that has reached New Orleans.

Yep. Tik Tok is the reason behind New Orleans' crime problem

TikTok challenge
If you're caught doing one of these it should be an automatic sentence of a year and a day in prison. I don't care if it is this, eating a Tide pod, or breaking your neck on some milk crates.

Tik Tok needs to be shut down so we can put a stop to the carjackings in N.O. This is getting ridiculous.

Just start shooting these carjackers in the face. Tik Tok is cancer

i don't know what i'm talking about but it seems like it's easier to steal newer cars. probably just more and more people unafraid of consequences though

Looks like NOPD is still blaming the media for the crime problem

cars should come with a self destruct feature.

Had a truck in high school I started with a pair of needle nose pliers. It would have been nice to have had usb, and everything that uses usb, around then. Much easier to find a replacement if the pliers fall through the floorboard, and it’s already on a string.

That Kia Boys video posted this morning showed the USB method with the young gentleman recommending that people should never leave a USB charger plugged into their car as it makes it that much easier to steal. Seems like the young entrepreneurs would just carry USB cables with them to increase their odds of success.

if you had an old enough car that ignition would be loose or not "lock", you could just turn the ignition with your hand. Good times
