Was a pretty good show and he still sounds great but for a few of his hits he only played the main lick and that was it and moved on. I thought it was pretty lame

For example he opened with Gone Country which is one of his bigger hits but he only played the main lick and that was it

Kinda left me with a case of the blue balls. I guess he's just old and doesn't feel like singing the whole songs anymore. I feel like he could do better

I like him as well but he shouldn’t tour or take people’s money if that’s his approach. Heard he failed to rehearse before a show in Atlanta a while back and it was very lame.

I saw him about 4 years ago and felt like he was dailing it in. I thought it was weird he played all of his 90s music videos behind him on stage for each song. It was distracting from his performance. Does he still do that?

Do you mean he played a medley of his hit songs or what? That sounds strange just to play a few licks, then stop. Was it followed up by anything else?

When I saw him in Nola before Covid hit, half of his songs he'd have random people throw t shirts to the fans in front and honestly thought it was weird as frick.

Yeah - I'm not understanding what that means exactly...

I always liked his music, would have liked to have had a chance to see him live in his prime. I think he's got some kind of disease that's gotten worse over the past few years (was it parkinson's?). Might be affecting him a bit much now.

Hes old af. And he's my favorite country artist ever. I saw him about a year and a half ago and felt exactly the same way. I think he's just spending time in the footlights building generational wealth.

Id be pissed, especially if he shoved a bunch of new songs instead.

Lol I don't even remember posting this thread but basically I meant he only played half the song for several of his hits

For example he opened with Gone Country but only sang the chorus

Another example he cut out like half of Don't Rock the Jukebox including skipping the entire "I ain't got nothing against Rock and Roll" part

He looked old af and would wattle around the stage throwing tshirts into the crowd he definitely doesn't get around too well anymore

He still sounded pretty good though

lol. I still can't understand what you're trying to say.

Are you saying he would play shortened versions of his songs with breaks in between? Or he'd play pieces of songs that flowed into other songs?

Hank Jr. did that once at the Houston Rodeo in the early ‘90’s. He was completely fricked up. Played part of a song, stopped, started another and then broke into Cat Scratch Fever.

Yeah shortened versions then stopped and went into a next song after

Basically cut big chunks out of multiple songs

I saw him about 10 years ago and he was doing the same thing at that time.

... Playing portions of songs.

Brooks and Dunn opened for him and they were embarrassingly bad.
