Clubs Over The Next Couple Years

Does anyone else thing we have a lull in what comes out from mfgs over the next couple of years?
Here's my thinking...
A) A lot of clubs produced and sold in 20 & 21 to accommodate a massive uplift in the sport.
B) Supply chain issues hit in 22 making new clubs hard to get.
C) Going back to work/losing interest - a lot of guys will find they don't have the time/interest anymore and look to dump clubs they just bought.
D) Economy concerns will cause many to forego buying anything new and just stay with what they already have.
E) Still have supply chain issues.
Maybe we have already started seeing this with PXG and their absolute pant-dropping of prices to move product. Some of these guys might not be here in a few years, or some of the larger mfgs wind-up picking up the smaller guys and we see a consolidation in the market.

First, there aren't that many club manufacturers to begin with. I think you'll see some get bought by Acushnet, Callaway, etc. The ones that may survive will be the direct to consumer type - the Sub 70s of the world.
But the elephant in the room is going to be the distance changes. That's going to thrust some new competitors into the market. Imo

Correct.

With the COR Rating in effect, there is only so much a manufacturer can do but repackage the same stuff.
Carbon crowns and faces are nothing new. The faces are super thin now and cracking under big hits.
TaylorMade coming out this week with the Stealth Black face and of course more expensive.
Real new technology and innovation will have to be done in the shafts and balls.
I expect most shaft companies will come out with their own versions of the AutoFlex shaft which is expensive but it is a real game changer more moderate swing speeds.
Snell Golf was supposed to introduce new balls, but supply chain has stopped that since Foremost is supplying TaylorMade, and others.
New grip introductions are really being stiffled because of raw materials shortages.
The discounted PXG models are past generations but real bargins. I expect a new 0211 Wood line and a totally new line.
Imo, Putters have the room for the most growth. There have been some great boutique putter companies with great ideas, but they are usually very under capitalized.

Regardless of all the things you mentioned. 2 year cycles is intense and impossible to keep up with. I’d prefer they go 4 year cycles. Just my two cents and preference thorough. But the reason none of that will change is because of azzholes like me that won’t stop buying golf equipment.

Demand for tee times is still strong.
I think people will keep playing.

Drivers are maxed out and have been for a while. I'd probably look at replacing the shaft before I do the head. In fact, I have been looking at new shafts.
Irons still have some room. The new JPX923 look great and are packed with tech. Coming off the new Mizuno MP line there is room for excitement there.

Club makers will continue to introduce new "better"
Models and dumbasses will buy them.
They are up against max permissible limits in most equipment, and frankly the new self correcting balls are beyond the specified limits.
The truth remains however that you can't buy a game

True, but there’s something to be said about being confident with your equipment.
Where do we go from here is the big question in golf tech right now. They are shaving margins at current in almost every department.

I don't understand this statement at all.
It cuts me to the core.
