Struggling mightily to schedule an appointment for a new passport in DFW.

I can not renew my current one unfortunately due to some ‘water damage’ on the back page so I have to go in person. Thus far, every location that does appointments is booked up it says until the end of January or has one appointment like at the back end.

Is this standard? I feel like there is zero chance there are appointments for this, which they claim only last 15 min, from open until close.

Any help is appreciated.

Honestly, I just walked into the passport area while waiting on another flight without an appointment and got it completed

We had same problem this fall. Emailed our US senator's office and they had us fixed up in a day or so with an appointment. Its an easy "win" for them.

Lol. That’s because you’re in Huntsville. The Houston area post offices don’t exactly have a lot, like almost no appts available. People drive to smaller post offices 30-45 minutes out of town.

I had a co-worker who had a trip to Italy this summer and did not realize her passport was expired, so she had to get one expedited. She is in Atlanta and basically got a 24 hour notice of an appointment at the passport office in NOLA because Atlanta was booked.

These were her thoughts in an email afterward...
If getting an expedited passport is your only option, you
a) cannot call for an appointment until 2 weeks before your travel
b) you may not get an appointment
c) if you do get an appointment, it may be in another city
d) you may not get your passport the same day
e) the passport office doesn't care about your big travel plans

Try the Frisco library at stonebrier mall. I scheduled my appointment last week for today and was in and out in 20-30 minutes.

A note to help folks, check expiration date on your passport, if it expires within 90 days. It’s no good.
Best to get it renewed ASAP, when getting close.

The Post office in Richmond (TX) told me that you can't schedule appointments for at least 60 days because the appointments are all booked. I just showed up during the Passport renewal times, since I figured it was a tech issue that there were no appointments for months.

Old Jarhead took mercy on us because I had my 8 year old daughter there, and processed it.
