Baton Rouge Judges race: Louise Hines Myers,39- Who is funding her & is she a Republican?

She has ads on TV, my text messages, flyers, bill boards, etc... In fact, her media exposure is at least 90% higher than the other 3 candidates, combined. Someone is throwing big money at her campaign. Why?
When I read what she stands for it makes me VERY suspicious because nowhere has she said she will take a tough stand on crime. She vaguely mentions her history but NOT how she stands on ANY issues.

Surely, someone knows this chick and what she's really like but what I'd like to know more is who are "her friends" that is funding her campaign.

Hines Myers, 39, is the youngest candidate in contention and the lone hopeful whose name has never appeared on a ballot.
A veteran prosecutor who has handled murder cases, gang violence and sex crimes in the 19th JDC since 2011, she was named the parish District Attorney’s litigator of the year in 2019.

For years, she used her dog to comfort young sex crime victims and lobbied for Duvall’s Law, a house bill passed by state lawmakers in 2020 that allowed emotional support “facility dogs” in the courtroom to help child victims and developmentally disabled witnesses through the judicial process.
“For more than a decade, I’ve intensely fought for victims of crime, justice for families touched by crime, and children harmed by criminal behavior,” Hines Myers said in a statement. “In this fight, I have learned the critical importance of our court system in protecting our community and people and supporting law enforcement in its constant battle to do the same.”

Louise Hines Myers here. We can't fight crime by delaying justice. Our courts have a serious backlog in criminal cases, so we need a Criminal Judge who can go to work on Day 1. I am the only candidate who has a background in criminal prosecution, and I can't wait to fight for our community!

Vote Faircloth. I'll trust him over Myers. Myers' campaign seems very fake to me, i can't place why.

Just go ahead and say that you think she’s Soros-funded so we can get down to business.

I kind of agree with you here although she mentions "crime" often in her ads. You just wanted her to be more specific I'm assuming? It's not a judge's role though to be the police. That's for the lazy legislators who do nothing.

Is she? Can we tell? I'd like to know myself. If she was a Republican, she'd have said it. To not mention a political affiliation in a Louisiana public office campaign can usually only mean one thing.

Will we be the business-as-usual Republican candidate

Every candidate in the race is a Republican. That doesn’t help her, or any of them. Hence no emphasis.

Hines has been a prosecutor for over a decade. Criminal law is basically her whole resume. Very no-nonsense person. Mother was a judge. The only non-conservative position I have heard her espouse is exceptions allowing for abortions in the case of incest or rape of the mother.
Faircloth comes across as conservative and polished but has zero criminal experience and has the least legal experience of any candidate in the race.
Landreneau has the most experience of any candidate in the race, but it’s all in civil. She is conservative as well.

She has my vote. Everything I have read about her points out that she has the experience needed and her resume (and research by myself and others) prove she is tough on crime.

I've heard that she recently switched to republican for this race. Her social media history seems pretty progressive/liberal friendly.
Regardless - she advertises that she is endorsed by Hillar Moore and Tony Clayton. 2 Democrat DA's. (Which btw - is that not a conflict of interest for Hillar to publicly endorse a criminal judicial candidate?)
I've also heard that her campaign is primarily financed by her well connected parents and their well connected friends.
I'm sorry but BR doesn't need status quo.

If they all feel like they have to be Republicans, none will ever tell you they’re a Democrat

When you prominently festure a dog on your political ad its a guarantee you are full of shite.

I’m voting for Faircloth.
I don’t trust any lawyer who has spent their career in government at any level to make a good judge. There’s no penalty for mistakes.

Myers is being funded by trial lawyers and the political elite. I'll pass.
I'm between Faircloth and Landreneau.
