All year we've talked about his growth, but in the middle of the year we've talked about consistency and his ability to grow.

Now that March is over, we can look at him as a whole.

35.6 MPG - 15 games

Shooting splits: 50.0/45.1/94.1
- 8.9 3PTA per game
- 7 games shooting sub 39% from 3, 2 games shooting 40-49% from 3, 6 games shooting >50% from 3

18.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 1.8 APG, 0.7 TOV, 1.5 SPG, 0.7 BPG

I think we're finally seeing the confidence and consistency starting to shine and if that's the case with Zion back after 2 weeks upon 2 weeks upon another 2 weeks...we could very well be deadly to deal with in the playoffs

His ability to drive is growing more and more and with those splits, he’s on his way to potential all stardom in his future. What an incredible jump in year 2.

As Murphy CJ and Jonas have all taken their games to another level, I believe the best course of action with Zion, on his hypothetical return, is for him to fit in & play a more traditional role of the power forward. Offensive rebounds and put backs, being a screener, playmaking out of the roll/high post. If he grabs the defensive board, let him bring it up.

On misses alone, Zion can clean up others and give you 20 & 8.

The team doesn’t need point Zion gassing himself out.

It won’t be winning basketball to see those guys standing around while BI and Zion take turns.

This alone gets him at minimum 20m per year.

Needs to up those rebounds and assists.

Love trey but he has the ability to become a more complete player. Those assists numbers should be higher. He has the ability to drive the lane and either finish or dish.

3.6 boards in 35.5 minutes

there are point guards with better rebound numbers.

He’s the 3rd best player on the team and I don’t really think it’s that close

That would be a steal. He’s getting 30m/yr at minimum. The cap is going up and he is a guy who can fit on any team in the league

Nah, not yet.
The hope is he takes the next leap to get there next season.

He's gotta be a guy you can give the ball and he can go make a play before he's above CJ. He's showing flashes but consistently, he mainly his shoots or attacks closeout.

Once the he rounds out the rest of his game, look out.

Trey Murphy III is about to become the youngest qualified player in NBA history to shoot at least 40% on threes and 90% from the line. Oh, and he also shoots 60%+ on twos. Just an absurdly efficient player.

LINK

Trey Murphy III is currently the only player in NBA history to have a season shooting at least:

60% from 2
40% from 3
90% from FT

LINK

He is getting 25+ per on his next contract, at a minimum.

Nice little lagniappe to moving CJ off-ball is having, with TM3, two elite shooters available on the court for spacing.

Amazing, although his shot chart has to be three or dunk/layup. His two point shots seem to alway be him attacking and getting to the rim.

Blah blah blah CJ, CJ is a turnover machine.

You have trashed CJ on here constantly yet provide no substance to back it up. His shooting numbers this year are still on par with his career averages and he's playing through a fricked up thumb in his shooting hand.

Give me one single stat that shows him declining and I can show 3 that prove that he isn't.

Brentsura, I am curious to hear your reasons as why CJ's skills are diminishing? Everything points to the the opposite. He is a player who should have multiple all star nods. He plays when he is clearly injured, yet finds so many ways to help this team.

CJ is a high volume shooter with little effeciency. Most nights he will take lots of shots to score 15 points. Also, lets look at the turnovers, constantly turning the ball over. Actually in regards to all star nods, people call it like they see it. He will never be an all star. I applaud him for playing with an injured hand, however if he is going to turn the ball over again and again and put up tons of shots to score 13 points, take the night off. We can get those 13 points from someone else.

He thinks the guy who is better than any of our other facilitators with taking care of the ball is the worst on the team at taking care of the ball.

He's a lost cause, he doesn't know basketball, which is fine. But he acts like he does and makes him look foolish.
