Weather front?

Would he make the same decision if he was 5 under?

If you make the cut, then quit, do you get credit for the cut?

I don’t think there’s any realistic scenario where he feels like he does now and is also able to be 5 under.

Yes

I think Tiger was exhausted after playing 27 holes yesterday in the rain and cold and was looking at another 27 today in even colder temps. Cold doesn’t do well for joints. Is what it is.

He clearly wasn’t okay in his start of the third round. He gave it everything he had left to try to make that cut.

I’m not sure I’m ready to say “never” with Tiger.

Maybe he will get a warmer Masters or other major over the next few years.

Maybe a warm Open in UK with the lack of big hills could be the ticket.

To answer your question though, no he doesn’t withdraw if he’s -5. I just can’t imagine him being in that position while barely being able to walk.

He was not in contention last year but gutted out 72 holes. But never limped like he did yesterday.

I think he’d try and fight through it if he was in contention.

He was really struggling with the conditions though, it’s hard enough when you’re not injured playing in the 40’s in the rain.

Of course if you told me I could play a round at Augusta I’d hire someone to carry me around it on a stretcher if necessary.

I imagine he would’ve taken a shot in the foot if he were in it. Oh well, age and injury have caught him. He really needs to retire. It’s sad to see him looking like this.

Plantar faucitis is supposedly why Tiger WD. I've had it and wearing Nike golf shoes made it worse. Thier arch is in the wrong place for me.

Considering what his body has been through, it is amazing he made the cut. But he needs to retire at this point.

At this point, Tiger is basically PR for the PGA. He will pop-in for a tournament or major here and there, but it is just to boost the numbers for the PGA. That is not a bad thing, and i commend him for taking on that role when he could just call it a day and hide from public scrutiny, but his competitive days are done until he hits the senior tour.

He didn’t want to post his worst score ever. Plain and simple.

I think next year he might just say it's his last run at the Masters. When he was in is 20's that was the big question. It wasn't whether he would beat Jack's major win total, but would his body hold up long enough. The car accident pretty much sped up his retirement by a few years.

I have loved with plantar fasciitis my whole adult working life. Hurts in the morning and then loosens up once I get moving. He should have just used the back as his excuse.

Well you wouldn’t have been -5 in those conditions yesterday.

I mean neither would I. I’d be lucky to shoot 72 on the front nine.

No. This is classic Tiger. When he plays bad, suddenly his pain is unbearable and he WDs.

That limp he had yesterday was impressive. Haven’t seen someone embellish an injury like that since Tua hobbled off the field against LSU in 2019.

Yep! It’s getting a tad ridiculous.

This website is awesome. He has a completely remade back and leg and the board thinks it’s all fake
