There is no political solution to American decline

Following politics and supporting politicians gives you the illusion of power to change the current course of decline. No one has that power because the problems facing our society are systemic and not caused by any particular course of public policy that could be reversed through legislation — even if voting actually resulted in concrete legislative outcomes which it does not. Following politics and yes even voting is a total waste of time. Universal suffrage democracy is fake, and gay.

There is. It's just balkanization or either bring back the Articles of Confederation or repeal Wickard v Filburn/act like the 10th amendment isn't just words on paper.

There will be a big war conflagration in the not too distant future. Americans are going to have to fight to keep the country and international order. We'll see if there are any young ones who will step up to the challenge. How our future unfolds is not nearly entirely within our hands. We will fight countries who don't put up with the tripe we put up with in this country.

Four years ago, many thought America and American life was the best it's ever been. Nothing as big as this country and all its pieces/parts changes that dramatically in 3 years.
It'll start changing when it matters enough to get fat/happy Americans off their asses to do something about it.
And, I'll mention again - a Convention of States is a shortcut to getting what we want. It is the tool the founders gave us to fix a situation where our federal government has gone off the rails and is no longer responsive to its citizens. It's doable.

While you won't find a bigger Article V CoS cheerleader than me, until the swamp is drained, a proper Convention would just be hijacked/derailed by the same grifting charlatans that currently consider themselves career politicians.
I'm as much as an idealist as you'll encounter here, but there are some necessary housekeeping steps we need to employ before we the people are in total control of our government once again.
That said, you are absolutely correct- we do not need anything ur elected officials' permission to curtail their spending, institute term limits, abolish the IRS, etc.

How would the swamp influence a COS to the point it would be ineffectual?
