Have a 3 club 9 hole MGA Wednesday evening
Pick your 3
Initially thinking 5i, 8i, 54*
I’d putt with a bellied 54*
Max 5i 210
Max 8i 165
Max 54* 105
Also considering 4wd instead of 5i

Depends on the course. Forced carry’s. Par 3 distances. Etc.

played in a few of these and the best scores are always guys that use putter, and some combination of wood and wedge.

Assuming we play the front 2 par 3’s 140, 170
Neither is forced carry
2 par 5’s
One reachable and the other 3 shot hole
Par 4’s range from 400-460ish

I also think Driver, mid iron, wedge is the best setup.

I'd go with 4 wood, 8 iron, sand wedge as well. I can putt with a bellied wedge just fine.

3 Wood
7 iron
putter
Ive never done this kind of thing but It makes sense to me. only issue I see is steep bunker shots.
3 wood off tee, then 7 iron depending on the distance, bump and run around the green, putt on the green.

I don't see how you can leave a putter out of the bag. 30 ..40 ft putts with a wedge seems like a 3 "putt" most of the time
Me: I'm going driver 7i putter
Me: I'm going driver 7i putter

7w, PW & Putter would be my choice

Blading a wedge is shockingly easy if you practice it just a little bit. It's definitely not as good as putting with a putter. But you can putt with a wedge, you can't hit a 65 yard shot with a putter.
