But I assume the Vector symbol is symbolic of leaving the Earth as in Up. I don’t think you can get to space going sideways.

It dates back to the 1420s during some battle. It is believed the battle was between humans and a lesser intelligence from another planet. They were bigger than humans. For example, I know today the average height of men world wide is like 5'8", this group was an average of 8'4" and strong. But they didn't have the intelligence to put together a plan. They got out of their space ships and just started attacking. Humans ran off where they couldn't be found, made a plan on how to attack them and within days they took them all out. The vector symbol was used by this group, but once the humans killed them off, they took it and used it as a symbol to say "don't frick with us" and well. It has evolved into what it is today.
