If you’re a diehard fan of both, which do you enjoy more: a Natl Championship or Super Bowl? If you could pick one for next year, which one would it be?

Is there a consensus team that the Saints fans hate like Bama or Florida?

Super Bowl becuase Saints Super Bowls are far more rare than LSU Nattys…. Also b/c i grew up 95% a Saints diehard and a casual LSU fan, though now i am equally a fan of both .

I am a huge LSU fan.

But the Saints come first for me.

Always.

I don’t think so.

I personally know a bunch of Bama fans that are big Saints fans too.

I’ve always felt like Alabama is more of a Saints state than it is a Falcons state.

Especially lower Alabama due to proximity to NOLA.

Not sure about Birmingham and northern Alabama. Maybe more Titans fans up there?

LSU by the smallest of margins. Mostly because the NFL is trashy.

I wasn’t trying to bring a Bama vs LSU angle. We ( in Alabama) just don’t have the competing interests of two football teams so I don’t know how it works out with true fans of both. I mostly see Cowboys fans ( imagine that) or front running Saints or Falcons “fans” if one is winning. I only watch the NFL for former players. I don’t really care which team wins most times.

This, because college ball is far better to watch than NFL. Always has been.

This for me too.

Now with the portal & NIL, CFB is (sadly) evolving to more of the “rooting for laundry” dynamic.

That takes some of the fun out of CFB.

The NFL is legally self-described “entertainment” rather than competition. And Goodell is the epitome of an empty suit with a $300 haircut.

And the Saints post TB are settling into mediocrity.

So both products to me are declining in appeal, LSU less than the Saints.

I have Saints season tickets and the only Saints game I’ve been to since 2019 was the London game vs the Vikings.

An LSU national championship happened most recently so I’m going Saints Super Bowl.

Unrelated, but Bama fans shouldn’t be allowed to be Saints fans. Most of them are closer to Atlanta anyway.

On the one hand, it's been significantly longer for the Saints, so there's a concern about them slipping back into the lower tier of the NFL is things don't turn around soon. On the other hand, success matters a bit less in the NFL, because "recruiting" isn't the same. When you suck in college, your future teams are worse for it. When you suck in the NFL, your future teams are sometimes better for it. I'm also a bigger LSU fan than I am Saints fan, but I love them both.

I guess the best way for me to frame it is if I can only pick one, it's LSU. But if I get to, say, allot three championships over ten to fifteen years, I'll go two for LSU and one for the Saints, instead of giving LSU all three.

Saints can go 0-17 if it means LSU wins a national championship.

I went to LSU. I feel like a “part of LSU”. I love the Saints, but I’m only a fan because of geography.

All of that aside, CFB is way better than the NFL.
