School me on gun safes…

I know I need 50+ long guns due to scopes on basically all my guns. I’ve got 3 eyed for Black Friday…. Liberty USA 50, Cannon 64 and Stack On 64 ( made by Cannon now and free delivery at Home Depot) so the question is go big and less quality or downsize a touch for a little higher quality. Thanks!

Useless, all of those and the store-bought mass produced thin meatal models can be broke into within minutes and none stand up to their fire rating. Wouldn't waste my time on any of them protecting 50+ guns that have sentimental and family legacy. Get a custom built in somewhere with proper insulation, humidity control, ventilation and a security system with a relocker that can't be drilled. The Amont you have invested in 2-3 of those guns will pay to protect all 50.

Every one of these threads devolves into an argument between the people who like Liberty and Cannon and the people who say they are useless because of the online videos and to buy a bank vault. I will admit that the guys in those videos break right in with the tools they have on hand for the video.
My $0.02 is that they are indeed useless if you are targeted by a group of professional thieves who know you have the safe and bring the tools and equipment. Or if the crew from Ocean's Eleven shows up.
Personally, I am more worried about the two Meth Heads that kick my door in one afternoon and have five minutes in my house before the police respond to the alarm. It will defeat them and that's what I care about.
So I went with the Liberty and think it's worth the $3k or whatever I paid when I bought it.

Exactly. Unless you have a famous gun collection, you're not getting broken into by a Special Ops crew or Danny Ocean. A store bought safe is sufficient.

I'm pro Cannon. I had one that went underwater in 2016 (luckily got the guns out before it did). When I was gutting my house, I happened to notice the label on the safe that advertised their full warranty for flood, and fire. I took a bunch of pics of it and called them the next day. I provided everything to them about the safe and they called me a week or 2 later and said my current safe was discontinued and they were going to upgrade me to one that was a little bigger. It took 2-3 months, but they shipped me a brand new safe at zero charge.

My preference is higher quality and sacrifice size if you have to. You can always get a tractor supply Winchester for some excess lower quality guns. I decided on the browning medallion line. They’re a lot more secure than most of the cannon safes you see, with a 110 minute fire rating, 10gauge steel body, pry stop bolts in the corner.
The thing with safes though is with enough time and the right tools, they can get into anything. Ideally, the safe should be bolted to the foundation, with no access to the sides or back. The door is usually the most reinforced. A monitored alarm system also limits the time somebody has to try and get in there. It’s also best to put it in a place nobody can see, preferably behind a locked door, and don’t tell everybody and their brother how many guns you have and definitely don’t show people where you keep them.
ETA: A cheaper safe may be all you need to stop a break in, but the fire ratings aren’t even close to the same as a quality safe.

Liberty is extremely overpriced for what you get. I recently bought an American Security for half the price of my friend's Liberty and the specs are nearly identical. It sounds like a generic site, but check gunsafes.com, reputable brands, they deliver to your house. Ordered mine and in a week or two it was at the door.
Also, it's not just scopes that matter. Is it precision chassis rifles? If so do you have folding stocks? Brakes? A lot of different factors. I've always been of the mindset I'd rather have multiple smaller safes than one large one if building a safe room like mentioned previously was not an option.

As for fire, it may do ok. That’s my biggest worry
If a big time thief cases my house and breaks in while I’m away, I’m sure he can get in the safe eventually. While doing so he will alert my neighbors with all the ruckus.

I buy cheap guns and live in a safe neighborhood so I say go cheap and big.
