The Hornets, look like they are open to making some trades before the deadline. I was looking at Nick Richards, a 7'0 center who is young, just 26 years old and average 8.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 68.0% fg percentage, as a good big off the bench. This would allow Nance to play more at the 4 on the 2nd unit.

What would you offer for him?

Nick got some valuable playing time this year and looks like he's ready to take the next step with more playing time.

If we need to replace JV with a cost-effective center, I'd be happy to trade for Richards. Would probably cost us the Bucks first rounder, protected, with Pels maybe squeezing Bees for a second rounder in the deal...

We can’t just rely on Nick Richards without any other plan in place next year at center. We are trying to compete and that doesn’t move the needle. If he gets traded it’s most likely to upgrade our #2 spot > #1

JV is guaranteed a top 3 most “cost-effective” center when comparing him to everyone else but he doesn’t fit a specific need on defense.

JV/ Richards = good
Allen/ Richards = good
Richards/ = Very questionable

That what I was thinking, we should make a play for Richards to be our number 2 big, and not our primary center. I think he would be an excellent addition coming off the bench.
At some point we need to start using our assess, we have enough young players, not getting playing time.

Larry is a 5.
He’s not playing the 4. He was terrible at the 4 last year.

I thought that was what we got upset about with Zion and what he was doing with that stripper? We can’t be hypocrites.

This. Larry is going to be a center for us, maybe our starting center. We absolutely need a second guy to split minutes with him and I think Richards works for 20-25 minutes a night. He can do that.

Barring a big trade, we aren't going to emphasize the center position and we aren't going to pay one. That's an area targeted for savings so we can pay other guys. We'll get by with solid role players...

21 points/ 10 rebounds last night against Detroit on 9/13 shooting in 27 minutes.

Not bad.

3 Team trade.

Naji to Boston for 2 2nds.

Zeller and those 2 2nds to Charlotte

Richards to the Pels.

I'm very worried about having JV and Larry as our only playable bigs, especially since Larry is injury prone. Getting some insurance in Richards would be great

And Charlotte would jump all over this trade why?

I think you'd have to send them a 1st and maybe get 2nds back for them to be interested.

Zeller has actually played pretty decent imo. My biggest concern is Nance staying healthy.
