Traditionally, I have always just cranked boats and wheelers etc, every couple days and/or ran them every few weeks in the river/woods. However, if one were to move down south to say New Orleans, Lafayette, or BR would bringing the boat even be worth it? Not looking to hunt down there.

Pure duck boat other than I guess you can fish out of it and other than duck season and some minor crawfish and fishing with buddies I just want to run it to keep it going reliably when teal opens. Or would a once or twice a month start on weekends be sufficient? Draining all the gas out be warranted? Stage 2 GTR 35

get a plastic barrel you can fill with water and lower the prop into. Makes it much easier to go crank and run. After you run it close the fuel valve and run it dry. Put the battery on a maintainer and let it roll.

That is how I usually run it on a trailer. Never have ran the gas down bone dry. The builders said use 93 which I do not like doing but have been doing since what do I know, which concerns me but new hose and hose clamps aren't hard to deal with if need be. But got barrels to put over the motor (especially with it looking stupid with that mukini carb on top) but as always I go here for expert advice. Thank you brotha.

No need for water… never heard of a prop overheating

My GTR doesn’t get run as much as it should, sometimes sits for 3-4 months but I run 93 octane ethanol fuel with no issue. I do treat it with stabil marine though. Cranking it up every so often wouldn’t hurt, but it helps to go joy ride from time to time.

I also installed a water separator on my fuel line, so that probably helps as well.

Add some stabil to it and run it every couple of months. 10mth old gas is still ten month old gas!!

and there's nothing wrong with 10mo old gas if it's clean...

Also, my gatortail (carb, not EFI) sits all duck off season, from Feb-October. Runs just fine and cranks right up if my battery is charged. I literally back it in after the last day and dont touch it until blind building time. MAYBE crank it once or twice during the summer. It is parked under my carport, out of the weather. I also only run 93oct, non-e gas. No stability, seafoam, or any other treatment. If runs funky after a while I tune it up a bit and it's good for another while.

maybe the rear seal?

This is a good idea due to the shaved heads in a stage 2. The higher compression requires a higher grade of gas.

As others have said, use Stabil and non-ethanol 93 gas and you're good just cranking it monthly.

Rear seal as in prop seal? Motor is in neutral. Prop barely spins. If you can run your lawnmower in your driveway, you can run your surface drive...

I appreciate all the input. Fuel lines with water separator might not be a bad idea but then again just cutting some new fuel line aint that hard either. I will play it as it goes for a while starting it when I get back to it (not bringing it south) and if that doesn't work I will bump this thread for places to joyride down there. Thanks guys.

I do both in barrel and out but I usually spray water on it from the hose but only just to be careful about any seals in the lower (its a cast lower the old kind) but Idk how true that it as its run fine on the trailer with no water,

Why would you not plan on hunting in SELA?

Cause I hunt less than 15 minutes from where I grew up in CenLa and it is just easier tbh, throw the boat in during teal season and just drive to the boat and go every morning.

To the post above I was considering bringing it down just to explore all the rivers and bayous down there but well see I guess.

Keep your gas tank as full as possible and it will be fine. Condensation is what gets to the gas and makes it go bad. Running it in the driveway once a month won't hurt either.
