30A Beach Hate Trend...Is it just sour grapes?

30A is poorly defined and a long stretch and I have no dog in the fight but I find it interesting how many people call 30A Trashy recently. But I know for a fact Seaside, Water Color, Alys Beach etc in the area have some of the most expensive property rentals...Is it just the poors who can't afford to stay there calling it Trashy to make themselves feel better?

It's nice. But I can jump on a plane and go to a nicer beach faster and for way less. I guess I am cheap but I'm not paying those rates for the redneck Rivera when I can go to Cancun, Tulum, isla Mujeres or Cozumel for less.

It’s just one of the OTisms. The bumper stickers are annoying but it’s a nice place. My grandpa has a house in Dune Allen (which is probably legit the trashiest part) and it’s still a great time.

This vast majority of this board is so self conscious about their own level of trashiness that they avoid anything fun to try to convince people they aren't trashy.

30A has some of the prettiest beaches on the planet. Much prettier than any place you just mentioned. And you're certainly not getting away from rednecks trash by going to Cancun or Cozumel. I don't know much about Isla mujeres but I here Tulum is nice.

I love 30A. We always stay in the Rosemary Beach area. I don't think it's trashy at all and enjoy my time there.

30A is great as long as I don't have to be there between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
And more specifically, I prefer to be there from March 1 though Memorial Day and Labor Day until November 1.

No idea if it’s trashy. Just that nobody down here in SE Florida has ever heard of it. Only way I know it exists is ties back in New Orleans going there. They all seem to like it but it seems to very much be an out of state kind of place.

You can fly to Cancun and rent a house on the beach in Puerto Morelos for 1/2 the cost of 30A. We've done that and won't ever go back to the crowds at 30A.
