Anybody else have blueberry bushes?

Mine are insane this year. I have never seen anything put out like this and they are probably all going to be ripe at the same time, in about 4 days.
It's a shame how many are going to go to waste. I can't even handle 20% of what we have ripe now, but nobody wants to come pick them.

We have 3 big bushes , great year , will probably pick 30 gallons or so
Last year was a bust , late freeze hit when the bushes were in full blossom , think we only picked about a quart
I can pick about a gallon an hour and get an hour or so in the morning and again in the evening

I didn't plant these, but there are 2 different varieties, about 20 bushes in all 1 has bigger berries than the other and they are already ripe. They are in clusters like grapes.
I picked a couple of gallons today in about 30 minutes.
The smaller variety will all be getting ripe this weekend and they are even more loaded.

Freeze them for later, make juice, or jelly.

Mine are putting out some berries this year too. I have 16 bushes and we’ve got a couple gallons put up in the freezer .

We will with a lot of them, but it's way more than we can handle.
Just wish some folks would come pick some of them, they're free. It's a shame to watch them go to waste.

I understand. I have had a half dozen different families come pick from mine, I've gotten all I want, and I still have some left. It was a good year for the blueberries!

I have to wonder what is so unique about this year?
We've been here several years and it has never been anything like this.

Yeah me and my buddy were talking about it the other day I have 4 and he has 9.
I must have gotten close to 10gal off mine and he don’t even know how many he got off his because he let so many people pick off his after he was pretty much tired of picking them.
My only guess was due to the late freeze and drought last year they didn’t make any and this year was a bumper crop?!?

Put them on baking sheets and freeze. Once frozen vac seal them and keep frozen. Open bags and grab what you need the rest of the year

I have no clue. We've been here a few years and the bushes were already mature when we got here.
Never been like this though.
It's supposed to be about 10 degrees cooler tomorrow, so I'm gonna pick all I can and give some away.

Probably already have all we can use. Going to need room in the freezer for other stuff.

Great year for mine too. I have three bushes. We have a shite ton in the freezer and I have been given a lot away. My kids love them but we have all we’re gonna use.

If I lived closure to you I would sure come pick them! My sister has a few bushes that have done pretty well this year, and I got a few bags off of her bushes.
It is getting that way with any kind produce overage. People will grab it up fast if it is picked, but can't be bothered to pick anything themselves.
I don't even wash them, just put them in bags then straight in the freezer. I wash the frozen berries which helps them thaw. They keep a lot better that way and don't stick together.

These aren't even hard to pick. The limbs are hanging over the rail fence on the side of the road. It's flat too. I mow it with my Cub Cadet mower.

Opelika, Alabama- Too far of a drive for me. I’d come pick some.

I don't live at Opelika anymore. I'm about 40 miles closer to Louisiana now. You might as well come on over and get some.

We lay a white sheet down under the bush. Shake the limb slowly but firm. The ripe ones fall off. Repeat 2-3 times a week

I tried this a few weeks ago and decided it was easier to just pick them. By the time I sorted out all the twigs and pink/green berries over the sink I couldn't tell I saved any time. Works great for mulberries though.
Yes its been a banner blueberry year from east tx to central ms as far as I can tell.
