Have 2 full days. Hot as hell here. With wife (no pics) & 2 teen boys. Here's what we're considering. What do you recommend?

Stockyards/Billy Bob's

Water Gardens/Panther City BBQ

Zoo

That's why I love TD. Lonesome Dove is my all time favorite western. I'm there! Thanks!

The word is a lie. I went there a few weeks ago and the food is meh, tried fajitas and enchiladas if anyone is curious. Margaritas are fine and the patio is a neat place but there has to be much better mexican food in Ft Worth.

Melt ice cream is really good.

I disagree entirely. Great atmosphere, good service and decent food.

People go to Joe Ts for the atmosphere and great drinks. Food is a B/B+.

It’s a place to be seen. Will see lots of nice tail

Look up h3 steakhouse in the Stockyards. Great atmosphere

Spent the day wandering the Stockyards, John Wayne Experience, Billy Bob's, & everything else. Had a great time. Worn out. Shower time!

Rangers have home games today (1:35) and tomorrow night. The roof should be closed you can watch baseball in the AC. Fort Worth isn't far from Globe Life

Might not fit your interests or schedule but you can take the vintage train from Grapevine to the Stockyards.. Don’t bother with the return leg to Grapevine if you don’t want. Definitely get tickets in an air conditioned car and be prepared for the high likelihood the train will be stopped and robbed by men on horseback.

Thinking about doing a mini vacation Thanksgiving week. Child is 6, anyone recommendation on doing either the Gaylord or the Great Wolf lodge?

Or should I stay off site instead of paying those room prices and get passes for the day?

If so any recs on places to stay would be great.

Thx!

I think the Gaylord is much better than Great Wolf in my opinion. Also, the should have opened up the ICE exhibits and most of Grapevine will have their Christmas stuff up.

Thanks for the help. Does the Gaylord have day passes. Would you stay in the area or at the Gaylord.
Rooms are running around 300 a night for that week

I would probably stay there as there is a lot to do. If you don't, you would just need to buy tickets for the events at the resort. There are several hotels around the area that would be easier on your budget.
