How big was this win today?

I don't keep up with college basketball until March, so I don't know what kind of team Wazzu is, and how they're projected to finish in the Pac 10.

Someone tell me a Carl what kind of team we played today, I have no idea either.

Not expected to be as good as they were last year but maybe the best defensive team in the Pac-10. From what I've seen, they are expected to be in the final 64 come March. I am no bball expert so I'm sure other can shed more light on Wazzou. I do know their football team sucks

but they are 8-4 and 3 of the losses are against ranked teams (the other loss is the LSU loss) fwiw

they are projected to finish in the top half of the pac-10...they went to the sweet 16 and brought the core nucleus of their team back...solid win IMO

Nice. I missed most of the game driving back to Shreveport, but I listened to the last 10 minutes on the radio and saw the last 2 on t.v. and was very impressed with the comeback. I hope this team's defense and tenacity can overcome it's size.

They are giving up the least amount of points in the nation according to the announcers.

It was a very good win over a quality Pac 10 team who will most likely be in the tournament.
If LSU is on the bubble, this win could be big in March.
Great job by the Tigers to keep their poise against that "pack" defense and close this out strong.
A Brady-coached team would have been lost as a goose and gotten pounded.

I follow basketball a great deal. It will be a solid win coming down the stretch. Would have been better if it was on a neutral floor or at Wazzu. I think the biggest game will be against Xavier in January.

They are predicted to finish in the top half of the Pac 10. Probably be a contender to make the NCAA tourny. They were the best defensive team in the country in field goal % coming into today. I think they only allowed 58 pts. per game also. Basically, they are a stout defensive team. This will be viewed as a quality or helpful win come March.

48 per announcers. I'm not looking it up, but Zealot says 44 and I trust him.

The TV announcers agree with you.

They had the #1 defense in the nation.

I think this is going to go a long way in getting us into post-season play.
I think there are a couple of more key games... At Utah (huge game for us because it is on the road) vs. Xavier (because they will be ranked in the Top 20 and have a high RPI and of course the SEC.
I think this team will go 10-6 worst case in the SEC and possibly as good as 12-4. I only think 1 maybe 2 teams get in from the West this year.
Here are the NCAA Teams from the SEC in my opinion:
Tennessee
Florida
Kentucky
LSU
Alabama
On the bubble:
Vanderbilt
Miss. State

quote:Solid win today, BUT, Washington St. did not return the "core nucleus" of their team back from last year. They lost their two leading scorers in Lowe and Weaver from last year. That, to me, was the "core nucleus" of their team. Still, a good win for the tigers. We need to continue our winning ways in order to have a shot at the tournament at the end of the year b/c our SOS will be very crappy, even after the SEC schedule.

no they didn't. They're 3 best players all graduated. I'd be surprised if they finish higher than 6th in the conference, but Wazzu tends to play better than their talent. It's a solid win, but Wazzu really isn't very good this year compared to the past few

it is a nice win because WSU is a tournament team and it helps with the teams we beat with our weak schedule.
