I would agree if they would have sent one of their own people. But you have to have plausible deniability in these operations. You can't just send a Delta force sniper in there. You would need a civilian that, if caught or killed, cannot be traced to you. And that civilian may or may not be a good marksman.

It's a cabal of Trump haters, and at the least since Trump don't respect the 'Deep State Bureaucracy', they see justification in giving him secondhand service.
I am nothing when it comes to securing a venue and I would lockdown all potential roofs and high shooting positions. No way the Pros guarding a controversial POTUS like Trump would blow it the way they did.
