Honestly, is this not one of the best modern rock albums ever from beginning to end? Aaron Lewis’ vocals were absolutely phenomenal on every song, definitely his best work. There isn’t a bad song on the album. You get the balls to the wall metal of “Can’t Believe” and then he hits you with the ballad of “Epiphany.” The guitar riffs and bass lines from every song are memorable and just hit different. I’ve been playing “Suffer” on guitar recently and man those riffs are just so good and fun to play.

In terms of 2000’s rock where would you rank it?

I think Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory has to be number one because it was just so iconic and groundbreaking, but Break the Cycle is definitely in the Top 5.

You’re going to get downvoted a lot but because of my age I like and enjoy a lot of those bands that came out in that era. From Korn to Slipknot and everything In between.

Staind Aaron Lewis is much better than wannabe country badass Aaron Lewis.

Hybrid Theory
Meteora
Any Chevelle album after and including Wonder
Whats Next
Lateralus
SOAD Toxicity
APC Thriteenth Step
Iowa and Volume 3
Korn Untouchables
White Pony

I could go on.
No particular order but it's not even close on early 2000's rock.

The early 2000s were a great time for hard rock and metal. Staind was not one of the better bands even if we limit it to mainstream stuff.

No, because Aaron Lewis sounds tone deaf half the time on that album.

I am with you on Linkin Park.

Staind was way better live and their songs were better. Not even close.
Saw both bands live and its not close.

Linkin Park is another band bigger than they were due to a death.

I'm no Linkin Park fan, but his death was waaaaaaay after their peak in popularity. Unfortunately, there was a time when they were the biggest rock act on the planet, and we were bludgeoned with them non-stop. Only made me hate them more

Are you like 10 years old? No way LP is bigger after Chester's death. They weren't even relevant after his death until the unreleased material was put out.

modern rock

I was born in 1985, so my music "sweet spot" was modern rock from 1995-2004 or so. Before tha period it was listening to whatever my parents listened to (Chicago, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, etc). After that period I basically reverted back to liking the classic rock stuff more. But in the last couple of years I've been going back and listening to the shite from my sweet spot (and in turn building up an Apple Music playlist featuring the stuff).

Third Eye Blind, Eve 6, 3 Doors Down, Staind, Finger Eleven, RHCP, Live, Oasis, Collective Soul, Everclear, Incubus, etc etc etc.....and yes, even some Creed. It's been a helluva nostalgic ride reliving all of this music, and realizing that we are as far away from that time period as we were from the late 60s back when I was a kid....

I liked all their stuff but Stained seems to get lost in the shuffle of that era. At any other time they would have been at the top of the game but there were many great acts putting out music at the time.

At least that's my perception of it.

By far and away the easiest downvote I've ever given.

Okay 2nd easiest downvote.
