Pellet gun (w/scope) recommendation.

I have a squirrel problem. My Crosman red tail finally bit the dust.
I have a 35/40 yd shot that I need to make on a regular basis. Good scope required. I don’t mind dropping a few Benjamins for a good one.
What’s everyone using? Thanks

I use a Benjamin .22 with a Hammers 3-9x40 scope.

With that one gone, I'd look hard at the Diana 250. Whatever you get, see if there are reviews where guys shoot multiple pellet models. Every airgun I have had did way better with a certain pellet design and weight.
What’s everyone using? Thanks

Benjamins
A few years ago I noticed the butt of one sticking out from a trash can. I picked it up and replaced the seals on it. It's an early 90s model in .22 caliber, I make 30-40 yard shots with it regularly on yard squirrels.

I have 4 brass barrel pre 1958,177cal. And one brass bb Benjamin's.
Easy to repair. Shoots straight. Wish I could find a scope for one of them.

You talking just the scope or the base to mount it on?

I got my son one. Not sure if it’s his fault or not but the magazine assembly that allows it to reload when you break the barrel is trash. Also haven’t found a pellet that’s accurate enough for my liking either. Upgraded the scope already.

Benjamin Trail NP XL Air Rifle
It is a nitro piston, single cock, .22 cal, and it is powerful. We had one for years and then gave we it to a friend’s kid. Best air rifle we ever owned. Heavy and straight shooting.

Check out Talon Tunes. Tony is always available to answer questions and steer you right. He carries a variety of pcp air rifles (pre- charged pneumatic). LINK
Take a look at the FX DRS.
I had a Benjamin Trail NP Jim Shockey Edition for years. Killed a lot of squirrels with it. I didn’t like the kick from the nitrogen piston.
I’m shooting an RTI Mora I got from Talon Tunes. I recommend them.
Check out my thread pcp air rifles.

I really don't think PCPs are good for the casual user. JMO. There are some really good CO2 guns out there that are accurate and shock-free. My next purchase will probably be one of these as I have had success with the cheap Umarex one you can get from Academy.

Looks to be discontinued or just out of stock everywhere. The XL isn’t, though.

I have this with a red dot, does all I need and the sound of the pellet hitting cardboard box is as loud as the shot.

If the pellets are not seated in the magazine correctly it will not load correctly when you break the barrel.

How loud are the break barrels? I need one that's quiet because when I shoot the squirrels jump and I miss my shot at about 25-30 yards. So I was thinking of going with a PCP. Is there one that's sub $400 or do I need to come up with a different price range?
