Looks like Elon is getting his payday for his endorsement.
Also being reported that Trump has vowed to do everything he can to help Elon get to Mars.
Don't you just love politics ?
I'm glad Elon helped get Trump elected, but you were naive if you thought Elon's Over the Top Endorsement was all about Freedom of Speech & didn't come with a price.

Did you think cars would not be self driving at some point anyways? It's inevitable. Elon doesnt need a payday, he is trying to advance humanity.

Well to be fair, it's not MY car driving me around that I'm worried about.

Yeah, I think this statement is complete bullshite.

Elon didn't go to Trump and say.. I'll give you my support if you make self-driving rules more lenient and help me get to Mars..

bullshite.

Elon had enough, especially with the situation regarding his son. Elon wants to burn the whole place down.

Now Trump, probably said after it was over.. Thank you. Is there anything that I can do for you? Perhaps that is where this comes up.. but no way did Elon require it for his support. That's just not the way that dude is built.

The at least sketchy robotaxi companies are going to have a nice time with this....

Hopefully it's geared for self driving and not driverless autonomy.

I know what POTUS Trump says but I really do not see and EO regarding self-driving cars.

Furthermore, I do want to see far less governmental regulation on our lives!!

This. There are numerous companies that are actually a bit ahead of Tesla in this space as far approved permits, and test cars on the road.

President relaxes regulations to allow the free market to thrive.

President agrees to support scientific initiatives to explore other planets via the private sector.

Explain to me what is wrong with these statements. It sure benefits Elon, but what’s stopping others from moving into this space?

Yeah what’s the problem about pushing “futuristic cities” and cities of the future? Didn’t you all fantasize about that with all your movies and media in the 50s-80s? I’m all for the flying cars

We already created the Space Force in the first term. What’s so bad about wanting to advance humanity and becoming a space-faring race? Elon is the greatest mind of our time with these ideas. What’s the harm again?

I’m all for American exceptionalism. I’d rather be the first to all of these than being passed up by other nations

Traveling in space has never been "safe."

I don't know enough about self-driving car regulations to speak on that one, but my first reaction to reducing government regulations is always positive.
