On3 - 89.00 3star
247 - 89.00 3star
This is a very underrated signing imo. Backup QB with a very high ceiling for the future.

Can’t wait to look back on this one. I think he’ll end up being way better, than his current rating.

This was quite the pull from the staff

I did not believe anyone talented enough to play (and MVB is) would be willing to transfer to be a backup. Great foresight and sales job by the staff.
The wasted time, effort, energy, and eventually humiliation the staff had to endure recruiting a 18 year old. And he was going to be making double what his position coaches were making.
No expensive recruiting wars for a quarterback for the next 2 to 3 years.
Now you look for that true freshman who can play but it’s in a bad situation like Van Buren was in…hopefully point to this successful model.
Huge for the program.Geaux Tigahs!

Unfortunately this just isn’t true. Battle for Haven will be in 2026

Haven already playing with an ATM towel. Let’s keep recruiting him and not forget there are at least 2 other Louisiana QBs in his class also highly rated.
No more all the eggs in 1 basket

As of TODAY - he will be the starter after Nuss leaves.

I still see Collin Hurley as a diamond in the rough. He has all the tangibles and intangibles. Right now he is just so damn young to be on a college campus. Hope he has the patience to watch and learn. Too many of the QB ilk want instant success and to see the playing field immediately. Thinking of Walker Howard how he was highly touted 5* at STM with Jack Bech. Now he is headed for the Rajun Cajuns back to Lafyette where he got hi start. Crystal ball accuracy in not 100 % .

Hopefully Nuss will stay healthy and Van Vuren uses his redshirt in 2025.

Who cares about a transfer rating
Jardin Gilbert was #2 portal safety and Denver Harris was #1 cb couple years ago

I think we look to take 2 QBs in that class and one of them should be little Nuss - you'd have to imagine he would stick with his commitment

Just to play devil's advocate here..... Bryce Underwood was all in on LSU since his Sophomore season as well and look where he ended up.
I'm not saying we have to have Haven, just that we shouldn't be reading too much into what these kids are wearing when they play. Also, ATM happens to be same colors as Dunham. Could just be the kid likes the look.

These 2 are not the same.
Gilbert was just bad. Harris was good but was a head case

If they get into a bidding war and get jilted again, they haven’t learned a damn thing.
I guess it wouldn’t surprise me.
After the BU saga, I’d change the way I recruit QBs.

Oh no. It’s over then. Recruits never wear gloves and stuff with school logos unless they’re fully locked in with that school.

Hell the kid is probably the most relieved qb in the nation. The pressure on the freshman starting for moo st must have been significant. Now it's all gone. Better school and coached with a vet qb to learn behind. All with a clear pathway to competing for the starting job his last two years. I think the kid is overjoyed tbh!

He was exactly what LSU needed.
Quality depth this year with SEC experience, fine with not being #1 and developing and competing for the starting spot next year with Hurley or whomever else ends up in the QB room between now and then.

Should have held on to Ricky

He has to wait and compete for a year and then along with Hurley, compete for the starting job for two years. If neither can meet the standard we need, then we go into the portal for a quality starting QB and one or both of them transfer. Horrible system but it is what it is.
