Mainly talking to protect my son and I's rifles for road trips of 5+ hours in a loaded down truck. Prob riding in a side by side from time
to time as well. Something rugged but not too expensive.

What do you guys use?

The Pelican cases are nice. But I checked out the Harbor Freight Apache case. Latches aren't as nice, but at half the price I couldn't justify spending more for the Pelican. Harbor freight will also have sales where they are $99 (regularly $149).

I just use a soft sided gun case because it easier to fold up in a box blind. Haven’t had any issues yet.

I have a couple of their smaller cases that are pretty damn good for the value. Even at $149 it's probably a good bargain. I'll keep an eye out for a sale and if I can get it for $99 it's probably a no brainer.

I bit the bullet and bought a nice pelican a year or so ago. I did so for bringing guns on out of state trips where I check my guns at the airport. Went back and forth in my mind between the pelican and the apache until I decided I'd kick myself if something happened to >$2,000 worth of glass or guns because I was trying to save $50 on a case.

None of them are cheap these days aside from the flimsy pos ones. I have bit the bullet on two pelicans and haven’t regretted them. The latches are great and they’re not overly heavy for the size.

I got a bow case from this place and I’m really impressed with it. Here’s a rifle version:

I have an SKB single rifle case that I have abused the last 6-7 years and is still holding up. Rifle has always held its zero after bouncing it around in the back of the truck and Ranger.

I just bought an Apache from Harbor Freight bc it was about half that of a Pelican. Temu has some for about half of the Apache. Grab one of those and give us a review. May be a good project for the OB like the coolers.
