What is everyone’s thoughts on Ron Rivera serving as DC? Has always been a stout defensive minded coach, familiarity with NFC South, players have always seemed happy playing for him, and could be a great Vet coach for Moore to lean on for that side of the ball.

Having a head coach on staff as a sounding board for first head coaching job not a bad idea

familiarity with NFC South

That was 5-6 years ago. All new coaches and QBs a few new GMs since he’s last coaches in the South

This is not a vote against him, he may be one of the better options; just questioning the relevance of his familiarity with all new systems and core guys in place

As an DC I’d pass. Are we sure that the game hasn’t passed him by a bit? If we’re going young let’s go young. You could always have an experienced guy in some other assistant head coach role. Could even be Ron. Coen has already interviewed him for a non DC role in Jax for example after getting the guy from Green Bay for the DC spot.

Jags friend of mine says he is interviewing for an advisor role with the team.

Doesnt seem like he is on anyone's DC radar

Think his days coaching are over. He hasn’t been a DC in 15 years. No one is giving him another HC job.
