Will Loomis continue to trade up? Or will he realize it’s finally time to start trading back for additional picks to infuse the team with young talent. The team has a few pieces but desperately need more picks over the next few years to rebuild the roster.

Loomis had 3 5th round picks and 2 rounds to trade up last year and didn't. I think Loomis and team strongly believe in their scouting and will never rule out trading up to get their player, but he has shown restraint when we aren't in win-now mode.

To get right with the cap you need to get younger and cheaper. You need to get and hit on draft picks and UDFAs. You need to trade back and get more picks. We should have been doing that the last 3-4 years.

But that is not Loomis, and he’s said so. That’s just never going to be him.

I don’t see us doing it much. We will stay put or target a guy to get him.

Build the lines! Eagles beat KC bc they could get to the QB with only front 4. Trade back if necessary. We can’t fix the team with just 1 draft. They need to think 3 drafts

if there ever was a year to trade down, this might be it. We would save several million in rookie pool dropping from the 9 slot to something mid teens or 20's.

I'd say there's a large pool of draft candidates that could interest the Saints anywhere from the 12-24 pick range. Adding another pick or future pick is bonus.

Him not trading up is a win. He showed a little restraint last year and had what looks like a good draft. If I recall correctly, he did trade up for Kool-Aid which looks to have been a good move; plus you can't expect him to go an entire draft without a trade.

Yep. Trading down in the first for picks makes sense this year.

And a 3 year moratorium on free agent contracts. 0, zero FA contracts for 3 years

They traded up in the 2nd for Kool Aid.

I didn’t have a problem with trading up for kool aid. I woulda lost my shite if they moved up in the first for a tackle, which there was a rumor he was trying to

You people planning a 3 year tank are nuts. The NFL doesn't work that way. If the Saints hold off on FA and big money restructures for 1 season, our cap will be fine afterward. Relax.

I cant man, nightmares with washed old guys and big long contracts.

Nobody wants a 3 year rebuild but this front office has a history (SP era up to now) of head scratchers.

Where is all the money going to get compliant? Thin air?

You do realize 26,27 aren’t going to look nearly as rosy right? We need to hold off for 2-3 years.

I'd see about the trade value of Cesar Ruiz. Get a mild draft pick for him, rebuild the interior Guards from scratch.

Once again, you are an insane person. Our cap in 2027 is fine if we don't go nuts this offseason. Heck, 2026 will be fine if we cut Carr now and eat his contract in 2025. Most FA don't hit the cap significantly the year they are signed anyway. Rebuild can comfortably start after this season. Relax.
