The wife has specifically asked to go out to dinner this weekend in NO which is rare for her. Usually its me dragging her to places!

She has a hankering for scallops or branzino. So i came to you all for suggestions for the best scallop/branzino dish in the NO area. You all rarely fail to deliver!

thanks in advance.

I've never been, but Pigeon and Whale has a scallops dish on the menu. So does Restaurant Rebirth.

Pigeon's scallops dish is good.

Tons of places have scallops, it just depends on supply. Fins always has them but other places like Brigsten's or Clancys has them too a lot of the time I think.

I can't recall peche having them.

Zasu I believe has them.

Can't think of anywhere that does Branzino

You may want to check the menu to make sure, but Bayona has great scallops.

Friend,

GW Fins is the obvious answer if you want high end seafood in New Orleans. I am uncertain if they still serve it, but when we visited BABs last year they served a delightful European sea bass dish. The last time I went to Outback they did not have the branzino.

Yours,

Disregard this.

Take her to a French restaurant. Don’t pick a restaurant based on a protein. Herbsaint, Cafe Degas, Lilette, LPG, Couvant, Justine, N7…JMO.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

We went to costera after looking over the menus suggested.

For those interested.

It was fantastic. We went at a pretty low traffic time so quiet, and staff very attentive.

Food was excellent:
Small plate : pork belly
Tapas: pan con tomate, Spanish octopus, snapper crudo
Mains: Flunder filet for myself, wife got the scallops as planned shared side o f the roassted carrot and cauliflower
Dessert: tres leches and guave cake

i had their non-alcoholoic G&T which was very refreshing.

Enjoyed every single bite, a+ experience.

I'm going to have to put that restaurant on our "to do" NOLA list. Thanks for checking back in.

Now I'm going to be "that guy".

Am I the only one who thinks scallops are the most overpriced dish at a restaurant?
