Do you juice your GHIN index?

I feel a lot of mid tier public courses don’t properly update their slope/ratings or move the tees up closer on weekends to try and help pace. Even making easier pin placements. If I feel this is happening, I’ll always add 2-3 strokes to my round. What are your thoughts?

The only thing I do is I enter the score I got on the hole and I do not enter any adjustments. If I score an eight, and eight goes on my card not a handicap adjusted score.
I mainly do that because the club where I belong does not adopt the local rule for OB. If they would let me drop in the fairway and hit four, then I would probably go back to the adjusted scores, but if I hit three out of bounds, I’m not walking away with a net double boogie.

Post your actual score.
The system has a PCC function so if scores are lower that day it corrects it.
Quit sandbagging!!!

Same. I input total score. I’m not giving myself a double bogey when I really got a snowman.

I put it in hole by hole.
The system will make sure I don’t get more than a net double.

Equitable score control isn't there to fluff golfer's egos. It's there to prevent one outrageous hole from skewing a golfer's potential abilities. Put the full by hole score, and the system should adjust for handicap purposes.

DeCheambeau has a YouTube video where he says its harder to score on a muni because the unpredictable greens. So I'd say it all evens out with some of the goat ranches around here.

This is why I'm skeptical of tournament style golf. I enjoy playing in a weekly money round where I play the same guys week in and week out and handicaps are kept in a vacuum for the group.

I’ve rarely seen PCC applied.
Maybe 1 in 100 rounds.

I have only seen it once. I realize many on here play a lot more than I do (30-35 rounds a year), but it only happened for me after playing The Lido in Wisconsin. I would imagine this only happens often at high end clubs that really pay attention to the conditions everyday.
Speaking of that one time. It was one of the handful of times I've broken 80 in my life. It was going to be the lowest differential I have ever posted. I log into GHIN the next morning and see they added a stroke to it since the wind was non-existent that day. What a kick in the balls.

It rarely needs to be applied. Most people aren’t playing in extreme conditions. I’ve seen it applied at Bandon Dunes a couple days in a row.

Im not reading whatever you wasted your time typing
My take on handicaps are simple... record the correct score you had, everytime. It's not a super complicated concept to understand, but many people have made it very complicated

GHIN is a good system.
I put in a hole by hole score.
If I screw up big time on a hole, it makes sure I just get net double for index purposes.
All I have to do is put the score in.
It tracks it by hole in the app.
I like to look at which holes I need to play better on by selecting scores by course/tee.
It’s a nice feature. Turns out my highest score relative to par is the #1 handicap hole.

Typically most golfers are an honest bunch.. But there are a few out there that just aren't.. My daughter plays tournament golf and you can typically tell which ones to look out for.. Both kid and parent..
