My family has a camp down in South LA and we leave our boat under the camp. Back in January a few POS took the lower unit. We have not replaced it yet but noticed on the camera somebody was snooping around the boat last night. Not sure if he was thinking we replaced the lower unit and he wanted another one, or if he’s coming back for whole motor or worst case entire boat. Any suggestions or tips? Absolutely hate a thief.

Park you car down the street and sit quietly in the dark heavily armed waiting.

We are in Bay St.Louis, In 11 years the only thing I've had stolen was a shitty truck pistol that jammed after every shot.

That being said, we put wifi cameras facing the fishing boat under the camp and the pontoon boat on the lift. The cameras flash blue/red for up to 20 seconds and make a very loud siren noise when motion is detected. You can control it all from your phone and turn the flash/noise off when you are there.

The brand is VicoHome and they can be hardwired or run off solar panels that come with the cameras.

We haven't had any unwanted visitors since getting the cameras but I would imagine the flash/noise will send them on their way if/when they do come.

Hear do this happening a lot over the past few years.

Theres a gang of these shitbirds in Florida that will hit an entire marina or boat yard overnight. Stuff in a container and send to the Caribbean.

Put in a new lower unit. Hook 220V up to lower unit from directly under the boat where it is difficult to see. Sit in house and wait for lights to flicker.

Haul trash away.
