Supposedly texted someone durning off limits period about Pasquotank River.
Seems like this is a trend with him. Probably more anglers do this but just haven’t gotten caught.
I highly disagree with this rule about no Info but can use a machine to actually show you where a fish is and how it reacts to a bait.
Yeah yeah the cheater box is legal and getting info from locals is not.

The entire industry has fallen off cliff. The no info rule has good intentions but now w FFS it’s nothing to find the fish. He’s been gifted free info his entire career no doubt.

His average bag weights and DQ weights aren't that far apart.

He's claiming innocence this time. Says the incident was 7 months ago before cutoff period.
IDK but clearly either he's pushing the boundaries of the rule or someone is out to get him on every technicality they can.

That would be weird because he's hardly ever even CLOSE to being in contention but who knows.

I am not surprised. Scott is a information hound and will drive you crazy if he needs something from you

He won a tournament last year

His dad was just like that. Asking every local he could find about the fishing

An "Open" tournament which you need to win to fish the Elites.
The big boys. The Pro's.
Against nobody you've ever heard of.
Kinda like the college-level.
On Okeechobee.
His home lake.
He's the king of the 10lb stringer when everybody else is turning in 22lbs.
eta: Palaniuk won the Elites tournament on Okeechobee this year. His big bag was 5 fish for 34lbs.

Which he was DQ’d from this year…on the “Big Boy” circuit…not the college level and anyone you’ve never heard of. I ain’t sticking up for the guy by any means, but if there’s a lake he absolutely needed no information on was the Big O and he self reported. Just saying…

Wrong. He fished the Opens Central division, yes, because one of the tournaments was on the Big O, his home lake. He had to fish the other two in Central Division (Santee Cooper/Lake Martin), to make sure his win qualified him for the Classic in event he wasn’t able to qualify through the Big Boy circuit which he didn’t. The win didn’t and doesn’t qualify him to fish on the Big Boy circuit

Scott would smoke you on the water. Has qualified for the last three classics. WTF have you done? I’ll hang up and listen

I agree 100%. I never said he was guilty. That wasn't my point.

I stand corrected. Thank you.

Link me where I said I was a better fisherman than Scott Martin.
Idiot.

Trust me I already know your not. Keyboard warrior!

Bassmaster has become a joke. MLF is much more entertaining. Admittedly I'm not sure if MLF has strict rules like this also.
That said, THIS:

Watching guys catch 30 1-2 lb bass is boring and for that I can’t watch MLF.

To each his own I guess. I'd rather watch the action of them weighing in every fish over a pound as they go, competing in real time than to watch them jig a worm for 8 hours to catch 5 fish. Admittedly, the one aspect that's missing from MLF is the grandeur of the weigh in ceremony with everyone together. Watching a guy celebrate alone on his boat is a little anticlimactic compared to a crowd cheering
There's very little if any wisdom and strategy to be learned from watching that format like back in the day. Now all you get is a guy staring at a screen not teaching you anything you can't figure out on your own already.
Where I fish, or used to fish, was much more aligned with the MLF format. Loading up on 1/2 - 2 pounders and getting a kicker every now and then.

My Scott Martin story....I won a Shimano Chronarch 100mg reel on Ebay years ago. For those of you not familiar with this reel, at the time this was the creme de la creme of reels. It is beautiful also.
I get a phone call and the guy says this is Scott Martin. You won my reel on Ebay but I am fishing a tournament right now (it was either in Alabama or Tennessee) and could you please wait a few days for me to send it when I get back home to Florida.
We talked for near 30 minutes about his Dad (I was a big fan of his Dad's fishing shows growing up), fishing Lake Amistad, swimbaits, jigs, etc.
Super nice guy to talk to. When I received the reel he had inserted a signed Baseball type card in the box, my name and Bass Wishes, Scott Martin.

Around Clewiston, Scott has a pretty good reputation as a nice guy. Roland? Not so much.

I met Scott at Lake Fork tourney last year. I asked him about his BeatDown mounts he had on his boat because I had never seen em in person. He proceeded to give me a 20 minute tour of his boat, and electronics set up. Super nice guy, willing to take that time to do that after a long day of fishing.
