Can a LA resident purchase a gun from a big box store in FL with no issues?

I would think it'll need to be mailed to a FFL holder in Louisiana then you can pick it up from there

You must have an ffl in your state of residence to receive the firearm and fill out the Form 4473. All applicable laws apply for background checks and wait times.

Legally, only hand guns must be purchased in state. You can buy it and ship to a La FFL though.
Absolutely legal to purchase long guns. Same process as La. Buy gun, background check, take gun w you. Only rifles and shotguns.
That being said, some big box stores will not sell to out of state people. Academy used to be this way. Not sure about now.

I would think that big box store would have to be able to ship to your local FFL... but it's unlikely.

Courtesy heads up... Florida is a 3 day wait on long guns nowadays. That 3 days does not include weekends or national holidays either.
