The Passenger and Stella Maris

Ok I just finished them, now someone explain it to me, I was expecting closure from Stella Maris and don't feel like I got that.

I like McCarthy a lot, but these were two very odd books

I read both either last year or in 2023. I enjoyed both, especially The Passenger. I don't think there's any closure to be found in Stella Maris. And probably they rank as McCarthy's weakest books. I still enjoyed them, though.

I didn’t like The Passenger. I think he tried to do too much with it; felt like 2 different kinds of stories crammed into one.
I will say that The Thalidomide Kid’s dialogue was amazing. Demented, funny, even insightful at times. Fantastic writing.
