I feel like pairing a Stradic FM 2500 with a Waterloo Salinity 7’ M action is a good setup.
Anything yall like more than that?

This would be a do all setup but I’d say half the time I’m using a popping cork.

Probably would go with the 3000. Rod is fine.

I went with a 3000 last purchase. I'm probably done with 2500s for bass and specs.

I have this setup but MF action. I wish I'd bought a 3000 just for the bigger handle

I have the Stradic 2500 on a G Loomis E6x inshore medium. I'm kind of the opposite. I would've gotten the 2000 (they no longer make in US for the newest model) if it held as much line as the 2000. The smaller the better for my taste.
I don't use this with a popping cork, as that is overkill. For a popping cork I use a Daiwa BG 2500 with a Falcon Coastal Medium popper rod.

I really like my Daiwa Saltist 2500. It's got the ball knob handle.- I haven't caught a bull red on it but have full confidence it would handle one pretty easily. I've caught multiple 26"+ speckled trout with it.
The Daiwa Aird coastal rod is $50 and they have been bulletproof aside from the "cork" peeling- but weight/action they're great. I still love shimanos but I've found recently that I feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck on spinning reels with a Daiwa. This 7' rod paired with that saltist is such a lightweight setup and so easy to fish all day. One handed casts are easy.
I've got a BG4000, 6500, and 8000 that go offshore with me and have stood up to some big fish and high salinity water, and those are $120 reels

Have three of those coastals and they are money, paired with Florida reels (2500). I have no doubt they can handle anything up to a ling if played correctly.

Good sized trout too. Averaged 2lbs

Man! I need to get down there. Dang kids sports are too busy. Birds working already?
Also OP. My 7'6 Procyon rod has been amazing. I put it on par with the waterloos. My falcon coastal is my next favorite setup.
Stradic, and BG are my favorite reels.

Birds were working all over west cove. We found a good set and got our limit with a quickness
And for OP, I like the Waterloo salinity or salty mag. I’m heavily bias towards Waterloo. Mike at Waterloo has always treated me right.
I caught all my fish today with a Waterloo HP lite and a Daiwa Coastal SV TW throwing lil Johns

Awesome! Man I'm itching to get out. Haven't been able to fish in almost 2 years. Got a "new" boat but it had been setting a while. Been working through all the bugs. I think it's good to go now. Going to run it a few more trips in fresh before I trust it in big lake.

Re-Tard-Ation
Damned if I know, was busy trying to put trout in the boat. Both were adults on the spectrum I guess.
