Me too. Had one on me last year after tracking a deer for my son. Didn't go too deep.

They’ll get their fill and be gone by the time you put an arrow through him.

I’ve tried the last two years to burn but it’s just been so windy both of those springs.

Me too. Ask Corey Jacobson (world champion elk caller) about them. He shot a bull with a huge tick infestation and ended up with the incurable Lyme disease from it.

Not sure how much it helps in the grand scheme of things, but the idea of a fire slowly creeping up the blade of grass where a tick is waiting and finally getting burned to death is a nice thought to have.

He thinks he got it from the meat? This seems almost impossible to prove, if the bull had a lot of ticks then the area he was hunting the bull had a lot of ticks. Seems just as likely he got it from hunting an area with ticks.

No he thinks he got it because in quartering out the elk he ended up with a bunch of ticks on him.
