Just watched the WVA highlights w/his last at bat and would have liked to see him get an at bat.

A little but the game situation never really presented itself.

Needing Bras to stay in on defense didn't allow for a pinch hitter

I love Josh but you can’t just give a guy an AB in the national championship game for S&G. The situation had to come up and it never did.

If you listen to podcasts/intervies, Jay outlines the plan for each pinch hitter before the game even starts. I’m sure Josh was planned in situations XYZ and they just never happened.

Jay wouldn’t do that just to do it unless we had a sizable lead or if the situation called for it. Neither happened.

No we were playing to win. Not to get guys at bats to stroke their ego or make them feel good.

If there was no opportunity then there was no opportunity. Braswells glove play was too important to DH for him.

Naa. Winning>Feelings

Josh Pearson played a huge role in 2 national championships. He is the GOAT teammate and is why this team made it. He doesn’t need a random at bat to help his feelings. He is unselfish and would do whatever needed to be done. I think his brother will be exactly the same way

Eta: wait, OP does know he had 7 at bats in Omaha, right?

Had it stayed 5-1 I think he would have bat for brown in the 9th but when they got to 3 the situation didnt allow for it

I get it... just a question. Yes, had the game been out of reach then I'm JJ would have given him an at bat. Appreciate his years and time at LSU!

It is also why Evans never came in. With shores dealing, let him finish it unless they force you to make a change.
It is big time ball, and you don't make moves just to do it. It has to help the team win.

But Josh did get a PH in his last AB in the BOX at supers and struck out on 3 pitches and got an ovation before and after the AB

I think it was 5-1 in the 7th and he could of pinch hit for Braswell but didn't and that was his best chance to pinch hit

He could have hit for Brown who was lost against the LHP but I’m fine either way.
