Who cares if it is Iowa State. Who cares if it is Kansas State (who apparently won the national championship when they beat an LSU team with a skeleton roster which had a WR playing QB). Who cares if they're playing in freaking Ireland.

I don't care.

College football is back, and I'm watching this crap game likes its manna from heaven.

God bless College Football.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

What's wrong with these 2 teams? Absolutely nothing.. it's the rest of the todays games that suck.

NIL and the portal have killed CFB. I’m over it outside of maybe watching LSU. If my kid wasn’t in the Tiger Band I probably wouldn’t go to any games.

Just an odd pairing for a showcase game in Ireland

Yeah it’s different now and I’m less passionate. If it was just one of those things then it might still feel like college football but instead we have unrestricted free agency with no salary caps or any restrictions

I wish I still had the excitement for it like I did in years past. I just don't. I used to count down the days, follow rosters, learn player numbers, and all that stuff. Now? Players don't even hang around long enough to learn their names and everything about it feels like a money grab.

I love college football. I'm very excited to start watching. A ball game, cold beer, pizza or nachos, and a few good friends make Saturdays a lot of fun.

I mean I guess it could have been Notre Dame and Boston College but that would have been a blowout.

NIL, although it had no name before, has been going on since before SMU got the death penalty. College athletes transferring has been going on just as long, although they had to sit out a year. Nothing has really changed, except now we know how much money the players are making.

This is the 7th season to start out with the season opener being in Ireland.

You'd think people would get used to it, and stop bitching about it-- at some point its tradition itself.

The portal has changed college football. It's free agency now. The amount of players that transfer now is so much higher than it used to be

That is definitely an opinion.

What a disingenuous take.

Yes, I agree. And I'm not a big fan of it. I'm all for a player transferring if he wants to, but I like that they had to sit out a year. That rule definitely curbed the amount of transfers. I would probably be OK with them not having to sit out a year if they were limited to 1 transfer in their college career. Or even not having having to sit out the first transfer, but then after that they have to sit out a year if they transfer again. I don't like this where they can play for 3 different teams in 3 years.
