MIL works as a home health nurse and had this snake fall from the top of a screen door when she went inside a patients home.
Poor quality pics I know. It slidthered pretty quick.
My first guess is baby timber rattler but that's always my assumption when I don't know. She said it didn't have a rattle but I also know baby rattlers have just a tiny button. Looks to be about 5/8" thick.

They can vary a bit, especially as juvies - these are all Westerns but pretty much indistinguishable from juvie grays aside from the red tongue vs. black.
Some are grayish with almost black blotches…
Some are more brownish with brown or even reddish-brown blotches…
…and even the pattern can vary, like this zipper-patterned aberrant I caught this year.
